Starting October 5, 2026, Kitanokaze Saryo in Hakone is introducing Shion, a new guest room with its own private sauna terrace. On the newly renovated Sky Terrace, guests get 24-hour exclusive use of a fully private space combining a full-fledged room sauna capable of rouryu (löyly), a dedicated cold-plunge bath chilled to a crisp temperature, and a milky-white bath fed by source water drawn straight from Owakudani.
Guests can sink into a sun lounger on the terrace and take in an outdoor-air rest, feeling the Hakone breeze drift through the bamboo grove. After tuning body and mind with the sauna and hot spring, complimentary drinks are on hand, including a sports drink, mugicha (roasted barley tea), water, vanilla ice cream, and seasonal ice cream flavors, among others.
Guests can enjoy this one-room-only luxury stay for a limited time.
