Tabio Corporation, which operates specialty sock stores including "Kutsushitaya," "Tabio," and "Tabio MEN," is completely revamping its "Mighty Soxer" line into "Kutsushitaya fam." Starting March 6, 2026 (Friday), the new line will be available at 150 Kutsushitaya stores priced at 550 yen (tax included) per pair. Sales on the official Tabio online store will follow on March 9 (Monday).
Background
"Mighty Soxer" debuted in the early 2000s as a sister brand to "Kutsushitaya," initially priced at 1,000 yen (excl. tax) for three pairs. Following a price revision in February 2023, the three-pair bundle was offered at 1,386 yen (tax included) for the past three years.
In February 2026, Tabio reintroduced a 1,100 yen (tax included) three-pair tier for basic items — the first time in three years — while simultaneously deciding to fully replace "Mighty Soxer" with the new "Kutsushitaya fam" brand at 550 yen (tax included) per pair.
About "Kutsushitaya fam"
The "fam" in "Kutsushitaya fam" evokes "family" and "familiarity." The brand repositions socks not merely as consumables, but as a communication tool for families and couples, adding emotional value to an everyday item.
The lineup is designed so that parents and children can enjoy matching pairs, or couples can subtly coordinate their looks, with products available in six sizes covering 13 cm to 27 cm.
Compared to previous products, the new line features more color options for patterns and incorporates functional materials. Gift sets designed for anniversaries and special events are also planned.
