Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch, the strategy roguelite RPG developed by Ocean Drive Studio, a subsidiary of Kakao Games, has received a major version 1.3 update. The update is available across PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The 1.3 update focuses on enhancing the tempo unique to roguelite gameplay, adding various features that allow players to enjoy the game in their own preferred style and at their own difficulty level.
Quick Expedition: Accelerated Progression
One of the highlights of this update is the new "Quick Expedition" mode. It becomes available once players have cleared an Expedition through Act 3 at least once, and can be toggled easily from the Expedition Preparation screen.
Quick Expedition reduces the number of battles and events to increase the game's pace, while carefully adjusting growth balance so that the final character growth level remains comparable to that of a standard Expedition. Additionally, exclusive events only available in Quick Expedition mode have been added, giving players who have already completed the standard Expedition fresh content to enjoy.
Enemy Mastery Level: A New Approach to Difficulty
The former "Trial" system's debuff-based approach has been overhauled with a new system called "Enemy Mastery Level." This system allows players to gradually adjust all enemy stats—except movement range—in both Expeditions and the Phantom Arena. Hardcore players can now enjoy more intense battles than ever before.
The system is also available in Trials, allowing players to tailor the game's difficulty to their own playstyle and skill level.
Phantom Arena: Keep Your Build Alive
A new mode called "Phantom Arena" has been added for players who want to get more use out of the character builds they've carefully crafted. Players can now save builds from completed Expeditions and use them to take on various combat scenarios repeatedly. Saved builds can also be loaded to challenge other battles.
Phantom Arena also features the Enemy Mastery Level system, along with 7 new sub-challenges and their respective rewards. It's a mode aimed at players who enjoy exploring different builds and pushing the limits of their strategies.
