Marvel Games and NetEase Games have announced their 2026 plans for Marvel Rivals at the fan event "Marvel Rivals Assemble," held in Los Angeles, USA. Billed as an "Avengers Year," 2026 will feature a series of annual events tied to Marvel Studios' Avengers film lineup, rolling out from April onwards. New content is also in the pipeline, including the game's first-ever 1vs6 asymmetric battle mode.
The roadmap includes special events and new game modes themed around Marvel Studios films — from Marvel's The Avengers through to Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame — launching in April, June, August, and October. In December, a new mode is planned to coincide with the theatrical release of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday. The structure allows players to explore the Marvel Universe throughout the year, in sync with the film release schedule.

The Game's First 1vs6 Asymmetric Battle Mode
A new limited-time special mode is coming to Marvel Rivals — the first asymmetric mode in the game's history. In this mode, one player controls Loki while facing off against six heroes.
Loki comes equipped with an all-new skill set exclusive to this mode, combining deception, illusions, and powerful mind control abilities. During battle, players can use mind control to turn enemy heroes against one another, creating cinematic moments reminiscent of iconic scenes from the films. Loki can also summon the heroes he has brought under his control, deploying them to fight for victory. On the other side, the hero team has access to Hulk under specific conditions, letting players relive the powerful battles depicted on the big screen.
A special Loki costume tied to this mode was also revealed. Further details are set to be announced.
