Additional September performances have been added to A Somewhat Strange Job Experience: Midnight Curator, an immersive night-museum event staged after hours in Toranomon Hills, following a sellout of tickets for the original July and August run. New tickets for the September dates go on sale starting at noon (12:00 PM) on July 25, 2026 (Saturday). The event is presented by TOKYO NODE LAB, the research and development team behind TOKYO NODE, the information hub at Toranomon Hills, and produced by Yugure Co., Ltd.
Running from July 24, 2026, the event takes place after closing hours at TOKYO NODE GALLERY, on the 45th floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower, currently home to the contemporary art exhibition Tony Oursler: Tech/Gnosis-Magic, Media, Art. Participants take on the role of a "curator," patrolling the darkened museum to inspect the works on display. Along the way, they're drawn into a series of strange occurrences that build toward a vivid finish — a decidedly odd kind of art experience.

A Midnight "Curator Experience" in a Real Museum
Outside normal viewing hours, after the museum has closed for the night, participants take on a special job as curator. The setting is TOKYO NODE GALLERY on the 45th floor, with sweeping night views over Tokyo — a level of otherworldly atmosphere and tension you simply can't get during a daytime visit.
Tony Oursler's Mysterious World as the Stage
The setting is the after-hours venue of a large-scale solo exhibition by Tony Oursler, one of America's leading multimedia artists. The event lets participants experience firsthand — through Oursler's own mysterious contemporary-art exhibition — his recurring theme of the fragility of human perception, in a kind of meta-art experience.
"What's Fiction, What's Real?"
As part of the curator job experience, participants put on white gloves and move through artworks that seem to stir in the middle of the night. Through places you can't normally enter and actions only possible after closing, you're asked to work out what's fiction and what's real. By the following morning, the way you see the world will likely have shifted a little.
The Story
A request has come in from Toranomon Hills: "At the contemporary art exhibition currently running at TOKYO NODE GALLERY, unexplained 'strange occurrences' have been happening night after night after closing — we could use your help."
Taking on the job experience of a curator at the "Twilight Museum," you slip into the closed museum after hours. As you make your way through the galleries, you're asked to work out — through actions only possible after closing — what's fiction and what's real.

Curators at the Twilight Museum are a slightly strange kind, active only at midnight. Alongside routine inspection work, they also handle odder tasks — checking on "exhibits that start to move" or "portraits that blink."
What Is "A Somewhat Strange Job Experience"?
There are all kinds of jobs in the world, but everyone only has one body — trying out every job you're curious about just isn't realistic. A Somewhat Strange Job Experience lets adults "experience" a "job" for themselves. As the name suggests, this isn't your ordinary job experience: it's a "somewhat strange" job wrapped in a sense of excitement.
A Collaboration Drink at TOKYO NODE CAFE
TOKYO NODE CAFE, on the 8th floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower, is serving a limited-time collaboration drink for the run of the event: a mysterious black soda evoking the darkness of the midnight museum, topped with a cute cat-shaped chocolate.

A Message from General Director Saori Kida
"Could we do a job experience in a museum after it's closed?" When Toranomon Hills brought me that idea, my imagination immediately took off. A story you can only experience in a midnight museum wrapped in the night view of Toranomon — and staged after the closing of a real Tony Oursler exhibition, no less. It sounded so interesting that the project came together right away: A Somewhat Strange Job Experience: Midnight Curator, a curator experience at the Twilight Museum, which only operates at midnight. I think this will end up being a premium experience you can only have during this run. Don't miss it.
Saori Kida (Representative Director, Yugure Co., Ltd.)
Joined SCRAP Co., Ltd. in 2011, where she planned and produced more than 100 popular real-escape-game performances in Japan and abroad and served as general manager of the mystery theme park Tokyo Mystery Circus. As a writer, she has also worked on the first-ever experiential mystery-game manga in Weekly Shonen Jump's history and written and directed an overnight-stay immersive theater production. In October 2024, she founded Yugure Co., Ltd., focused on immersive experiences built around "the movement of the heart," and continues to develop the A Somewhat Strange Job Experience series at a variety of unusual venues.
