About Tove Jansson
Tove Jansson, creator of Moomin, was born in 1914 in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, as the daughter of a sculptor and a commercial artist. She showed talent from a young age and was also active as a painter and illustrator. In 1945, she published the novel "The Moomins and the Great Flood," bringing Moomin into the world. Until her passing in 2001, she continued creative activities energetically, leaving many works across genres including novels beyond Moomin and frescoes.
