A new "Easily Assembled Wooden Light Furniture" series arrives at MUJI, bringing three furniture pieces, two wooden stools, and two stool cushions that are easy to carry home and simple to put together. The series launches early at MUJI Tokyo Ariake on September 1, 2026 (Tuesday), before rolling out at MUJI stores nationwide and on the MUJI online store from September 16 (Wednesday).
As living spaces grow more compact and lifestyles more varied, more people are looking to bring in only the furniture they actually need. At the same time, furniture is something to hold onto for years, so choosing a piece you really like matters — even though large, hard-to-carry items and time-consuming assembly can get in the way at the point of purchase.
This new series keeps the warmth of natural wood while easing the burden of carrying and assembling furniture. Each piece can be built and taken apart without tools and comes in compact packaging, making it easy to bring in not just when first buying furniture but also when redecorating or moving. Pieces can be added whenever they're needed and used right away on the day of purchase. The lineup covers a cafe table, side table, and low table, along with a stool and a high stool, so the right piece can go wherever it's needed at home.
Product Features
Tool-Free, Easy Assembly
The cafe table, side table, and low table go together simply by hand-turning the tabletop, legs, and posts into place — the same screw-together design used for the Easily Assembled Wooden Shelf. Built to be ready to use right after purchase, the tool-free design is meant to be simple even for people living alone for the first time or those unused to assembling furniture. The stool and high stool use fewer parts for the same reason, keeping assembly approachable for anyone.

Natural Wood Finish That Fits Any Room
The furniture is made from ash, known in Japan as tamo and widely used for furniture and baseball bats. It's finished in a simple design that lets the warmth of natural wood come through while suiting a range of spaces, and compact packaging makes it easier to carry home. The cafe table, side table, and low table are sized and designed to work well in living rooms, dining spaces, and workspaces alike.
Mix and Match Colors
The wooden stool comes in five colors — natural, light grey, dark grey, green, and brick — while the high stool comes in three: natural, light grey, and dark grey. Ash is a material with rich variation in grain and knots; painting the pieces evens out that variation and puts the material to full use. Cushions are sold separately for both the stool and high stool, so they can be matched to the frame color for a seamless look or paired in a different color as an accent. Beyond comfort, they're a way to bring some personal style into everyday living. The cushion covers can be removed and washed.

Sizes and Uses to Fit Your Space
The low table comes in three sizes — 60cm, 90cm, and 120cm — so it can be chosen to fit the room and the use. The stool doubles as a side table, and its simple shape makes it useful in all kinds of everyday situations. The high stool is designed at a height that pairs easily with kitchens and counters.
