MURUA Launches Fourth Collaboration in 20th Anniversary Series With Artist Ran Tondabayashi

MURUA, the womenswear brand from MARK STYLER Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Masanori Akiyama) built around the concept "MODE to MOOD," is releasing a new collaboration collection with Tokyo-based artist Ran Tondabayashi — the fourth installment in the brand's 20th-anniversary collaboration series. All four pieces go up for pre-order on July 16 (Thursday), 2026, through the official online stores RUNWAY channel and ZOZOTOWN, with in-store sales set to begin August 7 (Friday).

The collection prints Ran Tondabayashi's artwork across a top, a skirt, a tote bag, and socks.

Two graphics run through the line: one built around a single gerbera flower paired dynamically with hair and safety pins, and a collage-style piece created with MURUA's clothing in mind, each worked into the cut of every item.

The top's side drawstrings let you adjust the silhouette, while the skirt's thin velour fabric gives it a subtle presence. The socks and tote bag round out the lineup with pieces that are easy to work into everyday outfits.

About Ran Tondabayashi

Born in 1987, Ran Tondabayashi graduated from Bunka Fashion College before starting out in illustration and collage art, showing at solo exhibitions from 2013. In 2016, she made her debut as an art director on Aimyon's major-label debut. Based in Tokyo, she works across collage, illustration, painting, sculpture, and video, drawing on everyday life to combine varied motifs into work that reads as by turns grotesque, cute, and provocative. Alongside art direction for CD jackets and music video direction, she has contributed work to advertising visuals, spatial direction, and fashion brands.

Her artist name was given to her by Takashi Ikeda (Rekishi).
