NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO Marks 4th Anniversary with Music, Art, and Food Events

NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO, located in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, is marking its 4th anniversary on April 1, 2026, with four special events. Organized around the hotel's themes of music, art, and food, the lineup includes a live music performance, a limited-edition original craft beer, a sushi and Japanese wine pairing evening, and a photography exhibition in collaboration with the local art event "GOJO+."

The hotel opened in April 2022 under the theme "Recreating KYOTO — Discover a Different Kyoto," and has since offered creative experiences in partnership with local artists and artisans.

Event 1: Live Music Night with Shinra Shinji

On April 18 (Saturday), the hotel lobby will host a music event featuring Shinra Shinji (of Shonan no Kaze / Waka-danna) as the main guest. The evening will also include pop-up stalls from "Kissa Shokubutsu Saikoh," a Harajuku café run by Shinra himself, and "Tsunokichi," a popular Kyoto tsukudani (preserved food) shop. Guests can enjoy medicinal spirits and herbal teas selected based on individual preferences, along with a food menu focused on quality ingredients. The event blends acoustic music, cuisine, and wellness-inspired "youjou" (health maintenance) elements.

The event is co-organized with Cave de la foret CAMPWIne, which promotes the appeal of Japanese wine. Domaine Tetta cultivates grapes in limestone soil at an elevation of 400 meters without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, and ferments with wild yeast.

Event 4: Photography Exhibition "Burn Line" in Collaboration with GOJO+

In conjunction with "GOJO+," a photography exhibition held annually from April to May in the Gojo area of Higashiyama, Kyoto, the hotel will display works by San Francisco-based photographer Ari Salomon. Salomon received the Grand Prix at the 2026 "2nd GOJO AWARD." The exhibited series, titled "Burn Line," was inspired by the large-scale wildfires that struck California in January 2025. The work explores landscapes transformed by fire and the traces left behind. NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO has been a sponsor of the GOJO+ exhibition since 2025.
