Ver. 1.4 "For Whom the Verses Mourn," the latest update to Hotta Studio's hyperreal urban open-world RPG NTE: Neverness to Everness (NTE), began rolling out on September 30.
The update makes the witch Blackbird (voiced by Mamiko Noto) a playable character, opens the new area Pukaland, and kicks off the second Porsche collaboration. Version launch commemoration events are also under way.
Witch Blackbird (CV: Mamiko Noto) Becomes Playable
The limited board "Foretold Finale" (「終局のオラクル」), running from September 30, features the new S-rank character Blackbird (special ability type: Soul).
Blackbird is a witch who lives in the Witch's House in 橋間地. She likes narrow, enclosed spaces and prefers spending time alone as an indoor type. She is also an avid collector of antiques, reportedly favoring pieces whose appearance is important.
In the new main story that arrives on September 30, Blackbird's unknown past is revealed.
Blackbird's board gift "Divination Perks" (「占いギフト」) and the "Roostfeather Special" (「黒羽特別号」) Arc Research Program (弧盤研究プロジェクト) begin at the same time. During the event period, reaching a combined total of 50, 120, or 200 dice rolls on the limited board rewards players with a glider skin, a paint job, and Blackbird's costume "Rouge et Noir" (「赤と黒」).
Also from September 30, the limited board "Fading Reverie" (「永き夢の目覚め」), which offers Lacrimosa (レクイエム, CV: Maria Naganawa), returns to Scarborough Market together with its skin gift event and Arc Research Program. Lacrimosa is the adorable trump card of E.T.D Squad 4.

Web Event "Blackbird's Invitation"
Alongside the Ver. 1.4 release, a limited web event, "Blackbird's Invitation," runs on the event page of the NTE official website from September 30.
Inviting a new or returning Appraiser earns up to 540 Annulith (円石). Simply visiting the event page earns a free icon frame, and there is also a chance to win rewards such as Solid Dice (本質サイコロ).

Pop-Up Event "Blackbird's Little Fortune-Telling" Comes to Osaka
To mark Blackbird's arrival, a limited-time pop-up event will be held at Ponte Plaza in Osaka.
The venue features a photo spot and decorations themed on the Witch's House, along with a stamp rally that offers free novelties. For details, check NTE's official social media.

Second Porsche Collaboration Arrives
After the September 30 update, the second Porsche collaboration blind box "Born to Race" (「ファントムラン」) is available for a limited time, and the first collaboration returns as well.
The "Born to Race" blind box offers the new collaboration vehicles "Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package" and "Porsche 911 Turbo (930)," along with other in-game items. The returning box "Everdriving" (「エバードライブ」) offers the "Porsche 918 Spyder" and the collaboration costume "Perfect Partners" (「プライム・パートナー」) for the ability user Zero (零).

New Area "Pukaland" Opens as a Playable Amusement Park
After the September 30 update, the new area "Pukaland" has its grand opening.
Pukaland is divided into four main areas, each with a variety of playable attractions, including a maze, a roller coaster, and a haunted house. Playing earns "Puka Stars," which can be exchanged for Annulith and other items. It is also a good place to unwind and relax.

Version Bonuses and Events
To celebrate the Ver. 1.4 release and the opening of Pukaland, players who log in after the September 30 update receive 10 Solid Dice, which can be used on limited boards, and the limited icon frame "Like Clockwork" (「マージン0」). Logging in for 7 days during the Ver. 1.4 period earns another 10 Solid Dice.
In the second half of the version, players will receive Fons (ファンス) ×2,000,000 and a costume for the new character Akane Rin (明音凛, CV: Ikumi Hasegawa).
In-game events themed on the Pukaland Fest are also arriving one after another. Players can join them to earn Annulith, Fons, and other special items. For details, check the event calendar or NTE's official X account.
Legendary Band "Nekodori!!!!" Teases a New Collaboration Song
In a new side story planned for the second half of Ver. 1.4, the legendary band "Nekodori!!!!" (「ネコドリ!!!!」), led by Akane Rin, is scheduled to appear with a new song.
The new collaboration song will be performed by Akane Rin, Nanari, ハニア, and Zero. It is described as an anime song that would appeal to aliens, time travelers, otherworlders, or psychics. More details are to come.
