A three-day event dedicated to "nuikatsu" — the growing trend of taking stuffed animals on outings and capturing photos with them — is coming to Ikejiri, Setagaya, Tokyo from June 26 to 28, 2026. Titled "Nuigurumi no Gakko" (Stuffed Animal School), the event is built around the concept of "spending school life with your stuffed animals," bringing together experiential exhibits, merchandise sales, and photo opportunities inside a real classroom space.
"Nuikatsu," which involves bringing stuffed animals along on daily outings and sharing moments with them on social media, has been gaining traction particularly among Gen Z. What began as a collecting hobby has evolved into a more experience-oriented culture, with real-world venues like cafes and events increasingly welcoming stuffed animals as part of the experience.

Visitors can explore exhibits depicting the school lives of participating characters, alongside interactive participatory displays. Each character's school-day scenes are brought to life in an immersive setting designed for stuffed animal enthusiasts.
② Immersive "Nui-Tori" Photo Spots
The classroom venue is transformed into stuffed animal-sized photo sets themed around school life. Desks, blackboards, and other props are scaled for stuffed animals, making it possible to capture photos that look as though your stuffed animal is living out its own school days.
③ Exclusive Merchandise Sales
Limited items — including stuffed animal accessories and original goods available only at this event — are on sale. Visitors can discover and purchase stuffed animals, stickers, and various character merchandise.
