PAÑPURI, the Thailand-born fragrance brand with a wellness-inspired approach, is releasing its holiday collection "Liminal Currents," making its Japan debut, in stages starting Thursday, November 12, 2026. The limited-edition items will be sold at the official online shop and in stores.
The collection starts from the natural shift of mind that comes at the end of the year: a moment to pause, look back on the year, and let go of what has piled up. PAÑPURI pairs this with the themes it explores, namely awareness of the present, stillness, and care that involves facing oneself and satisfying the five senses. Together they express a way of returning to one's true self at the year's end.
The collection expresses this philosophy as "Liminal Currents," drawing on water's qualities of awakening, transition and release. Under the campaign theme "Move as water does," it treats the close of the year not simply as an "ending" but as a flexible period of transition toward what comes next.
Collection Concept: "Move as Water Does"
In Eastern thought, water represents quiet strength. It flows without resistance, adapts to its surroundings, and keeps moving forward true to its nature. The story of water, from a clear source through a great river to the vast sea, mirrors the shifts of our hearts toward stillness, reflection and release.
This emotional journey is told through three scents: "Edge of Light," "Under the Surface" and "Fade into Unbound." Each scent expresses a gradation of feeling: senses awakening, memories drifting, and the heart being set free.
The Three Scents
1. Edge of Light: When the Senses Awaken
Scent family: Floral Citrus (grapefruit, jasmine)
The journey begins at the "source," where clear water first wells up and meets the light. Just as the heart clears the moment water springs forth, the scent stands for the feeling of waking up and regaining the quiet possibility of a fresh start. It is the stillness before movement, creating room in the heart to settle and awaken the senses before taking a new step. Bright grapefruit and delicate jasmine overlap in a fresh, luminous scent with a pleasant lift.
2. Under the Surface: When Memories Drift
Scent family: Floral Green (white tea, neroli)
Water gathered from the source flows into the "great river." Beneath the calm surface, a ceaseless current carries memories and experiences onward. Drifting quietly between the path already traveled and the one ahead, one reconnects with oneself in that in-between moment and feels the pull to move forward. The softness of white tea, the refreshing floral-green of neroli and skin-hugging musk express a grounded, quiet movement.
3. Fade into Unbound: When the Heart Is Released
Scent family: Oriental Woody (cardamom, clove)
The journey reaches the "sea," where the horizon opens and boundaries disappear. Letting go of what has been held and gently setting the heart free brings a sense of calm and freedom, and creates room in the heart to welcome a new future. The warmth of cardamom and clove layered with amber and wood makes an enveloping scent with warmth and depth.
Together, the three scents tell one continuous emotional story, from the clear stillness of the source, through the depth of the great river, to the openness of the sea.
