Peko-chan Red Daruma / White Daruma," going on sale in limited quantities at Fujiya's official online shop "Family Town" from September 29 (Tuesday) at 10:00 AM. The dolls capture Peko-chan's signature cuteness while making the most of wood's natural warmth as interior décor.

Peko-chan's charm comes through in this wooden daruma doll, with its dimensional ribbon on either side and its signature sticking-out tongue as the standout detail. Two versions are available: a red daruma with a Milky candy design on its belly, and a white daruma with a shortcake design, both symbols of Fujiya. Make a wish and place a sticker over one eye, then add a sticker to the other eye once the wish comes true. The back of each doll also comes with six types of stickers, including ones for exam success and household safety, so owners can customize their doll with their favorite stickers. Enjoy the warmth and special feeling that only a wooden piece can offer.

Interest in interior-friendly "wa-zakka" (Japanese-style goods) and lucky charms has been growing in recent years. While looking for a fresh angle for Peko-chan merchandise, the warmth and handmade feel unique to wood felt like a great match for Peko-chan's familiar charm, offering an appeal different from conventional figure merchandise, which led to the decision to create a wooden daruma doll.
Care was also taken with the details: alongside capturing Peko-chan's essential charm, the doll comes with stickers for writing wishes and stickers for filling in the eyes, so it works both as a piece of wa-zakka and as a daruma lucky charm.
The size and coloring were also chosen so the doll blends naturally into a room as an interior piece. Wooden items have a warmth that pairs well with characters, so there's potential to expand beyond ornamental pieces into seasonal goods and other interior items going forward.
