The second installment in the Puchi Licca-chan mini doll series, "Puchi Licca-chan San-X Universe Collection," is set to go on sale on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The product is manufactured by Takara Tomy and themed around San-X characters. Each mystery box contains one of seven variations and is priced at 1,650 yen (tax included).
The collection will be available at toy specialty stores, department stores, mass retailers, select convenience stores, variety goods stores, and Takara Tomy's official online shopping site "Takaratomy Mall." International rollout is also planned.
What is Puchi Licca-chan?
The Puchi Licca-chan series launched in February 2026 and quickly exceeded expectations — the first wave reportedly sold approximately eight times its initial projections. It sold out on Takara Tomy's official online store within just two days of preorders opening, generating a strong wave of interest.
The dolls measure approximately 7 cm tall — about one-third the size of a standard Licca-chan — and feature characteristic details such as flocked hair and eyes looking to the left. The clothing is removable, and the mystery box format means buyers won't know which character they'll receive until they open the package.
The San-X Universe Collection
The San-X Universe Collection is the second wave of the Puchi Licca-chan series. It features six beloved San-X characters — Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi (Tokage/Lizard), Tarepanda, Mikanbonya, Kogepan, and Afro Ken — along with one "Secret" type, making seven variations in total. This is the first time a secret type has been included in the Puchi Licca-chan lineup.
Each doll's hair color and outfit are designed to reflect the personality of its respective character. For example, the Afro Ken version features a colorful afro hairstyle recreating the character's iconic look.
