Siroca Launches Foot-Operable "Shagamimasen" Fan for Hands-Free Convenience

Siroca Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is launching a new DC living fan called "Shagamimasen" on May 15, 2026. The fan is designed so that basic operations — power on/off and airspeed adjustment — can be performed simply by lightly touching large buttons with your foot, without ever needing to crouch down.

Product feature overview

Product page

Many people have probably found themselves pressing a fan's buttons with their feet at some point. According to a survey Siroca conducted, approximately 80% of respondents said they had "operated a fan with their feet" or "mostly operate with their feet."*1 While some felt it seemed lazy or improper, others simply didn't want to bend down every time. The "Shagamimasen" (literally "no need to crouch") is designed to make foot operation not just acceptable, but the intended way to use the fan.

The three most frequently used buttons — power, airspeed up, and airspeed down — are large, clearly visible, and positioned for easy foot access. The buttons use capacitive touch sensors, so they work even while wearing socks. Siroca also put the design through extensive durability testing to ensure the buttons can withstand accidental hard presses, delivering both reliability and ease of use. In addition to eliminating the need to crouch, the fan is convenient for situations where both hands are occupied.

Product Features

  1. Foot-operated large buttons — no crouching required
  2. "FuwaBiun Technology" for both a quiet, gentle breeze and powerful airflow
  3. Two-stage oscillation to suit any situation
  4. "KokoPita" precision airflow targeting function
  5. "Mimamori" automatic temperature-response function

1. Foot-Operated Large Buttons — No Crouching Required

Large foot-operable buttons

The power on/off, airspeed up, and airspeed down buttons are oversized for easy visibility and foot operation. The capacitive touch sensors respond to a light touch and work through socks.

Useful when your hands are full

Helpful for elderly users or those who are pregnant

Note: Always keep your heel on the floor and lightly touch the button with the tip of your foot. The touch sensors do not work with slippers or shoes, and may not respond if your feet are very dry. Only the power and airspeed buttons are intended for foot operation.

2. "FuwaBiun Technology" — Gentle and Powerful Airflow in One Fan

FuwaBiun Technology

Siroca's proprietary "FuwaBiun Technology" combines uniquely designed blades, a guard, and motor. The patented blade shape — featuring specific thinness and curve angles — delivers airflow ranging from a quiet, gentle breeze perfect for sleeping to a powerful stream ideal for room ventilation or drying clothes. At minimum speed, the fan operates at approximately 12 dB, which is quieter than the sound of rustling leaves,*2 making it suitable for use during sleep without disturbing rest.

3. Two-Stage Oscillation to Suit Any Situation

Two-stage oscillation

Horizontal oscillation can be set to either 75° or 120° depending on the situation. The vertical angle can be adjusted manually and can even point straight upward, helping to circulate air throughout the entire room.

4. "KokoPita" Precision Airflow Targeting

KokoPita function

Using the "KokoPita button" on the remote control, the fan's direction can be fine-tuned precisely. Hold the button while the fan oscillates, then release it when the fan is pointing where you want, and it will stay there. The fan can be aimed anywhere within 60° to the left or right of center.

5. "Mimamori" Automatic Temperature-Response Function

Mimamori function

A built-in temperature sensor monitors room temperature and automatically adjusts the airspeed and operation mode. When the room temperature drops to 24°C or below, the fan stops running, avoiding unnecessary operation. This feature is useful during sleep and as a heat stroke prevention measure.

Room Temperature Operation
28°C or above Airspeed level 8 + 120° oscillation
25°C to 27°C Airspeed level 4 (no oscillation)
24°C or below Operation stops

*1 Survey period: February 26 to March 12, 2026. Survey subjects: Siroca Club members (n=104). Survey method: Internet survey.
*2 Measured at a distance of 1 m from the reference point at minimum airspeed (measured by a third-party institution).
