Soumah's Crescent Moon Brut 2020 is now available in Japan through Mottox, an Osaka-based wine importer, starting April 20, 2026.
A Debut That Already Draws Major Recognition

Crescent Moon Brut 2020 marks Soumah's first foray into bottle-fermented sparkling wine. Owner Brett Butcher has noted that pursuing this style felt like a natural progression, given the winery's long focus on cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The results from this first vintage are already impressive: the cuvée earned a Gold Medal (95 points) at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, and was also recognized as Best Sparkling at both the Victorian Wine Show 2025 and the Australian Boutique Wine Awards 2025.
A Premier Producer from Yarra Valley's Gruyere District

Soumah's estate vineyard sits in the Gruyere district of Yarra Valley — a gently sloping area at 90 to 150 metres elevation — widely regarded as one of the finest growing zones in the region. Neighboring estates include the highly regarded Cold Stream Hills and Yarra Yering. By working with the varied elevation, aspect, and sunlight exposure across the site, Soumah selects not only the right varieties but also the optimal clones for each plot, consistently producing wines that express some of Yarra Valley's most distinctive terroir.
