ZelkovA Cake Boutique on the 1st floor of The Strings Omotesando (3-6-8 Kita-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will sell a New Year celebration cake, the "Kotobuki Ichimatsu Fruit Jewel Cake 2027" (寿 市松フルーツジュエルケーキ 2027), for a limited time from Wednesday, December 30, 2026 to Monday, January 11, 2027. Modeled on the traditional Japanese ichimatsu (checkerboard) pattern, the cake packs strawberries and melon that shine like jewels into an ojū (stacked food box).
The cake is built from juicy strawberries and sweet melon arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Lightly sweet, moist sponge is layered with light, airy cream so that the rich sweetness and aroma of the fruit stand out. The fruit spread across the cake glitters like jewels and adds color to the New Year table.
It is a seasonal treat for the first photogenic moment of the new year.

Osechi Reservations: "豪華絢爛おせち2027" (Gōka Kenran Osechi 2027)
The Strings Omotesando is also taking reservations for its New Year osechi (traditional New Year dishes), the "豪華絢爛おせち2027" (Gōka Kenran Osechi 2027). The four-tier box makes use of caviar, foie gras, and truffle, known as the three great delicacies of the world, along with selected ingredients such as abalone, shark fin, lobster, and kinmedai (splendid alfonsino). It combines a traditional Japanese celebration box with modern Western touches based on French cuisine.
