TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE Opens at The Strings Omotesando, Directly Connected to Omotesando Station

A new bar lounge has opened in the basement of The Strings Omotesando (Kita-Aoyama 3-6-8, Minato-ku, Tokyo). TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE began welcoming guests on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Accessible directly from Exit B5 of Omotesando Station without stepping outside, the venue offers a luxurious hideaway atmosphere inspired by the speakeasies of Prohibition-era New York.

TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE: A Place to Forget Time

The Strings Omotesando draws on the diverse cultural values of New York — a hub of fashion, art, and culture. True to that spirit, TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE takes its name from the concept of a place where guests can forget the passage of time. The bar lounge reinterprets the backdrop of Prohibition-era New York to create a modern "speakeasy" in the hotel's basement: a hidden retreat featuring a spacious layout, luxurious interiors, and cocktails crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

Three Defining Features of TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE

1. A Location Directly Connected to Omotesando Station

Despite being steps from Omotesando Station, TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE functions as a genuine hideaway the moment you step through the entrance, cutting off the noise of the city above. The contrast between the everyday commute route and the extraordinary space beyond creates a sense of anticipation.

2. Losing Track of Time

As the name "TIME NEST" suggests, the expansive underground space is designed as a gathering place where guests lose themselves in the moment. Carefully curated interiors and warm candlelight help dissolve the sense of time passing on the surface, enveloping guests in deep relaxation.

3. An Experience That Engages All the Senses

The bartender selects spirits chosen for their aroma and character, presenting original cocktails that maximize the appeal of each ingredient. Alongside these, American classic cocktails, craft beers, and food items infused with skillfully used spices round out a multi-sensory experience.

TIME NEST BAR LOUNGE Signature Cocktails

Three original cocktails have been created for guests to savor slowly while settled into their seats. All prices are tax-included; a 15% service charge applies separately.

Smoky Highball — ¥3,000

A theatrical, experience-driven drink that sets TIME NEST apart. Guests first choose their preferred smoke chip, and the bartender then infuses the glass tableside with aromatic smoke before building a Japanese whisky highball. Additional whiskies — Scotch, Islay, and others — are floated in sequence, so the flavor and character shift with each sip. A single glass reveals two or three different expressions.

Matcha Gin Tonic — ¥2,600

A signature drink where Japanese tradition meets contemporary craft spirits. The base of selected craft gin and tonic water is paired with seasonal ingredients, and the visual highlight is the bartender preparing the matcha at the table, tea ceremony-style. The deep green swirls slowly through the clear glass, creating a striking gradient. The result is a layered, complex drink where the leading edge of craft gin meets the depth of traditional matcha culture.

Favorite Flavor Lemonade (Non-Alcoholic) — ¥1,890

A TIME NEST-style lemonade with freshly squeezed lemon as its base. The standout feature is a set of four seasonal flavor syrups, each presented in a small flask-shaped bottle with a dropper. Guests add their chosen flavors at their own pace — experimenting like a science project — to build a personalized drink. The interplay of colors in the glass adds a playful visual element, while the flavor combinations remain refined and sophisticated.

Original Cocktails

Drawing on the historical backdrop of Prohibition-era New York, these cocktails blend classic charm with contemporary mixology concepts.

Under the Lounge — ¥1,750

The name references the underground hideaway setting. French brandy forms the base, enriched with the exotic character of passion fruit liqueur. Fresh fruit juice balances the weight of the brandy, creating a drink more approachable and vibrant than the spirit's reputation might suggest.

Florida Lemon Tonic Sour — ¥1,600

A TIME NEST take on the familiar lemon sour. The sharp citrus of lemon is balanced by the subtle bitterness and aromatic lift of tonic water, resulting in a clean, stylish sour with more depth than the classic version.

Seven classic cocktails of American origin, each reinterpreted with TIME NEST's own sensibility:

  • Manhattan
  • Cosmopolitan
  • New York
  • Kentucky Mule
  • Long Island Iced Tea
  • Whiskey Smash
  • Gold Rush

Seven Tapas Stand — The Chef's Pairing Selections

The chef has assembled seven tapas designed to complement the drinks menu. Each small plate is conceived as a "micro-gastronomy" experience, pairing naturally with cocktails, wine, and beer. The selection includes spice-forward dishes, richly flavored bites, and preparations that draw out the natural umami of each ingredient — all presented on stylish stands.

  • Salmon Marinade with Seasonal Vinaigrette
  • Galician-Style Octopus (Pulpo a la Gallega)
  • Arancini
  • Cured Ham and Seasonal Fruit Cheese Roll
  • Beef Tendon Tartlet with Cacao Accent
  • Eggplant Vinegar Marinade with Bocconcini

Homemade Spice Curry — ¥1,500

A fitting final course for an evening at TIME NEST. The chef blends a proprietary spice mix and simmers the curry for over half a day, with mango chutney added as a secret ingredient for depth and richness. The daily offering — whether a meltingly tender beef tendon curry or a concentrated keema curry — depends on the freshest ingredients of the day. Served with coleslaw and carrot rapée.
