The American watch brand TIMEX, whose exclusive distributor in Japan is Ueni Boeki Co., Ltd. (株式会社ウエニ貿易), will release the "1978 Day Date Fume Dial Reissues" (デイデイト フュメダイヤル リイシュー) on Friday, November 6, 2026. Pre-orders open on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
Drawing on a 1978 archive design, the watch recreates the fumé dial, a style popular in the 1970s. The color on the dial changes in a gradient from the center toward the edge, giving it an expression reminiscent of the aged look of a vintage watch.
"Fumé" is French for "smoke" and refers to the gradient on the dial.
The watch comes in two colors, deep blue and brown. The fumé dial changes its look depending on how the light hits it, adding depth to the classic design.

The domed crystal reflects light well and, together with the gradient of the fumé dial, brings out a three-dimensional appearance.
