TOKYO ANIME NEXT, an anime event organized by the Association of Japanese Animations (一般社団法人日本動画協会), takes place in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from Friday, October 30 to Monday, November 2, 2026. The full lineup and timetable for the anime screenings and talk shows held in Ikebukuro on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 have now been announced. Applications have also opened for free programs during the event, including anime-making experiences and seminars by production staff.
On October 31 and November 1, the Kids Anime Workshop is held at WACCA Ikebukuro 1F Event Space, and on October 31 the Anime Staff Meet-Up is held at Otomate Building 6F Otomate Square. On November 2, the Anime Staff Seminar and Anime Creator Course take place at Toshima Kumin Center (としま区民センター). All of these are free to attend, with advance applications (by lottery) accepted through the official website.
Anime Screenings and Talk Shows (October 31 and November 1)
A total of 14 titles are shown in 16 screenings at three cinemas in Ikebukuro: Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas, TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro, and Grand Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro. Some screenings include a talk show with production staff and cast.
The screenings with talk shows were announced on October 7 (Wednesday), and ten new titles have now been added to the lineup. The talk show for the November 1 screening of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising will feature 馬越嘉彦, 中村豊 and 大薮芳広.

Free Experience and Learning Programs (October 31 to November 2)
The participation-based programs are held at various locations in Ikebukuro and are aimed at everyone from children and students to aspiring creators. All programs are free to join.
Applications are accepted from 5:00 PM on Friday, October 16 through the official website. Advance registration is required, and participants are chosen by lottery.

A workshop using Chibi Maruko-chan (ちびまる子ちゃん) that lets participants experience how animated drawings are made to move.

Main Event: Orchestra Premium Stage (November 2, Tokyo Tatemono Brillia HALL)
The main event on Monday, November 2 is held at Tokyo Tatemono Brillia HALL in Ikebukuro. It combines a live performance by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団), specially edited footage, and live performances by artists, presenting memorable scenes from leading Japanese anime as an immersive experience.
Part 2 covers three titles: the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃), the TV anime Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人), and the TV anime Detective Conan (名探偵コナン), with scene footage, live orchestra, and live performances by artists.

A New Anime Award to Be Unveiled on November 2
In Part 3, the finale of the main event, the concept of a new anime award is announced. The award is being prepared for 2027 with the aim of creating an award that continues across the years as a leading anime award in Japan. Its name and outline are to be revealed for the first time on stage on Monday, November 2.
