Tokyo Disney Resort Celebrates New Year 2026 with Special Events and Entertainment

Tokyo Disney Resort will celebrate the New Year with special events from January 1 (Thursday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026.

At Tokyo Disneyland® and Tokyo DisneySea®, Mickey Mouse and Disney friends will greet guests in traditional Japanese attire with festive music to celebrate the new year through "New Year's Greetings."

At the park entrances, decorations featuring Mickey Mouse and Horace Horsecollar from the Disney short film "Mickey's Grand Opera," a character associated with the Year of the Horse (uma) in 2026, will be displayed on kadomatsu (traditional New Year decorations).

Special merchandise and menus will be available for sale. In the evenings, new fireworks show "New Day, New Dreams" will light up the park's night sky with vibrant colors to celebrate the new year.

Additionally, Disney Hotels will offer special New Year menus, and the Disney Resort Line will sell two types of free pass tickets featuring New Year designs.

Furthermore, the attraction "It's a Small World" will feature "It's a Small World with Groot" starting December 27, 2025, for a limited time (end date undetermined), showcasing Marvel Studios characters. Guests can enjoy scenes of Groot riding a kite and experiencing vacations across various countries and regions on Earth.

"New Year's Greetings"

Performances: 2 times daily

Duration: Approximately 25 minutes

Performers: 21 people

From January 1 (Thursday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Disney friends in traditional Japanese attire will greet guests from festive floats decorated with New Year elements. Twelve performers in traditional Japanese clothing and a band will also appear to add color to the greetings.

From January 1 (Thursday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and friends in traditional Japanese attire will celebrate the beginning of the new year aboard festive boats decorated with New Year elements.

*On January 1, the 2026-2027 Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador will appear during one performance of "New Year's Greetings" to greet guests and announce their appointment.

"New Day, New Dreams"

From December 26 (Friday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026, vibrant and festive fireworks will illuminate the night sky above both parks with the message "Let's move forward with new dreams!"

Special Merchandise

Both parks will sell New Year-themed merchandise starting December 1 (Monday).

Items featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Horace Horsecollar in traditional Japanese attire enjoying mochi-pounding, including kinchaku pouches and postcards, use colors such as red, white, and gold to evoke the Japanese New Year spirit. Additionally, bowls and chopsticks designed with colorful daruma dolls inspired by Disney characters will allow guests to enjoy the New Year at home.

Furthermore, "Tokyo Disney Resort Frozen Selection" will sell "darumaman" featuring daruma-designed Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

Additionally, starting November 17 (Monday), plush toys and plush badges featuring Disney characters themed around the Year of the Horse (uma) in 2026 will be available.

Special Menus

From January 1 (Thursday) to January 5 (Monday), 2026, "Restaurant Hokusai" at Tokyo Disneyland and "Restaurant Sakura" at Tokyo DisneySea will offer zoni bowls for a limited time. At both restaurants, guests can substitute the miso soup included in meal sets with zoni bowls. The zoni bowls feature round mochi, shrimp, and hagoita-shaped kamaboko, creating a visually festive New Year menu. Additionally, both parks will sell oden to warm up during the cold season starting December 26 (Friday), and desserts with New Year-themed souvenir cups shaped like yunomi (tea cups) will also be available.

Decorations

From December 27 (Saturday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026, kadomatsu featuring designs of Mickey Mouse and Horace Horsecollar will be installed at the entrance of World Bazaar at Tokyo Disneyland and at the entrance of Miracosta Street at Tokyo DisneySea, allowing guests to feel the New Year atmosphere.

"Ticket Design"

Park tickets purchased online for admission from January 1 (Thursday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026, will feature special New Year designs for a limited time.

Disney Hotels

At the three Disney Hotels, special menus evoking the festive atmosphere of year-end and New Year celebrations will be available from December 26 (Friday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026.

At "Canna" (Creative Cuisine) at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, the "Year-End & New Year Stylish Canna" incorporates osechi elements into appetizers to create a special New Year atmosphere.

At "Empire Grill" (California Cuisine) at Disney Ambassador® Hotel, the "Year-End & New Year Special Dinner" features appetizers, grilled dishes, and desserts with Mickey Mouse motifs.

At "Silk Road Garden" (Chinese Cuisine) at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta®, the "Year-End & New Year Dinner Course" uses auspicious ingredients such as kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) and spiny lobster.

Disney Resort Line

From December 26 (Friday) to January 12 (Monday), 2026, two types of New Year-designed free pass tickets will be sold at ticket vending machines at each station.
