From July 1 to August 31, 2026, Tokyo Marriott Hotel's ground-floor restaurant, Lounge & Dining G, will be serving a summer-limited afternoon tea called "Summer Peach Afternoon Tea." The centerpiece is the peach — specifically, tree-ripened peaches from Maruto Farm in Fuefuki, Yamanashi Prefecture, a variety rarely seen in regular markets.
Pastry Chef Satoru Ishiwa has crafted eight peach-focused desserts that change with the season. During the first half of the period, varieties such as Hikawa Hakuho and Hakuho — known for their juicy, melt-in-your-mouth texture — take the spotlight. In the second half, firmer, intensely sweet varieties like Asama Hakuho and Kawanakajima Hakuho step in. Across the two-month run, roughly ten different peach varieties will appear in rotation.

About Maruto Farm

Maruto Farm is situated in Fuefuki, Yamanashi, Japan's top peach-producing region. The farm grows seven main peach varieties — Hikawa Hakuho, Misaka Hakuho, Hakuho, Asama Hakuho, Natsukko, Beniku-nika, and Kawanakajima Hakuho — using no chemical fertilizers or herbicides, and with reduced pesticides. Special attention is paid to the shape and spacing of the trees to maximize sun exposure.
Peaches are left on the tree until fully ripe to draw out their natural sweetness, resulting in large, high-sugar fruit at peak condition. Because fully ripened peaches deteriorate quickly, Maruto Farm's distribution channels are limited, making their peaches rare and highly sought after.
