Toyotomi Launches Convection Kerosene Stoves "Classic" and "Moon Lighter" Exclusively at Its Online Store

Two new convection kerosene stoves from Toyotomi, "Classic (CL-N25)" in Navy and Ivory and "Moon Lighter (ML-N25)" in Black, go on sale at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

They are stoves that carry on the "atmosphere" of Toyotomi's convection stoves of past years, with a flame that shines in seven colors behind an antique-style classical guard and a flame like moonlight created by white glass, while blending naturally into modern interiors. "Classic (CL-N25)" comes in two colors, Navy and Ivory, and "Moon Lighter (ML-N25)" comes in Black, for three colors in total.

Sales start at 12:00 PM on October 6, 2026, at the official Toyotomi online store, with sales at Toyotomi's official Amazon, Rakuten Ichiba, and Yahoo! Shopping stores to follow in sequence.

Neither a Reissue Nor a Completely New Design: The Story Behind Their Creation

Toyotomi Rainbow Stove history

Toyotomi began making Rainbow Stoves in the 1980s. The long-loved Rainbow Stove is one of Toyotomi's signature stoves, and the Rainbow history began with the "RB-2," released in 1980.

That line was carried on by a spin-off, the "ML-21 Moon Lighter" of 1988. Its flame burns softly and quietly like moonlight, and the light flickering through its vertical-bar guard is etched in many people's memories of winter.

In 2014, the "CL-25E" followed. It had an antique-style classical guard, a top plate with cutouts inspired by stained glass, and a deep navy body. It was a model that fans loved for a long time as the culmination of a design built up since the Showa era.

Past Toyotomi stove models

The new "Classic" and "Moon Lighter" are not simple reissues of those earlier models. They do carry on the "atmosphere" of the designs of that era: the flame flickering through the guard, the gentle radiant heat that warms you to the core, and the quietness unique to a kerosene stove that uses no electricity.

Safety standards, material quality, and how well they fit into modern living were all updated where needed. They keep the good qualities of the old days while blending into today's spaces, and were created by carefully deciding what to keep and what to change.

They are not complete reissues, but they remember those days. That is the kind of stove they are.

Product Overview

Classic: A Classical Guard and a Seven-Color Flame

Classic

The defining feature of the Classic is the antique-style classical guard surrounding the combustion cylinder. A flame shining in seven colors can be seen through the metal bars engraved with an arabesque (karakusa) pattern. It comes in two colors: classic Navy and Ivory, which blends into the room.

A Classical Arabesque Guard Where East Meets West

Arabesque guard

The arabesque pattern is a traditional Japanese design that also has a certain Western elegance. This guard still embodies the "classical warmth" that Showa-era kerosene stoves gave off.

A Classical Top Plate With Attention to Detail

Classic top plate

The Classic's top plate carries a design with cutouts inspired by stained glass. The attention to detail shows throughout.

Note: Toyotomi sells a pot stand (gotoku, sold separately) made for RL and RB series stoves, but it is not compatible with the top plate shape of the CL-N25. Please check before purchasing.

The "Classic" Lettering and the Control Section

Classic control section

The front panel carries the word "Classic." The controls are a simple dial, but the same attention to design is found here. The marks showing ignition and extinguishing serve as function indicators while also working as complete designs: elegantly curved decorative arrows, with a diamond icon on the extinguishing side and a flame icon on the ignition side.

The Seven-Color Flame Comes From Toyotomi's Technology

Rainbow glass

The rainbow treatment that produces the seven-color flame is a technology unique to Toyotomi. A special liquid is applied to the glass and left on, and the refraction of light created as it dries produces those seven colors. While burning, the brightness is equivalent to about a 40 W incandescent bulb, so the stove softly lights the room as it warms it.

Moon Lighter: A Gentle Flame Like Moonlight

Moon Lighter

The Moon Lighter's glass combustion cylinder has a special white coating. When lit, the glass produces far-infrared rays and soft light fills the room. Its dignified presence blends naturally into the room as a winter interior piece, whether lit or unlit.

A Top Plate for Cooking, Compatible With a Pot Stand

Moon Lighter top plate

The top plate is wide, so a kettle or small pot can be placed on it to heat slowly. The ML-N25's top plate is compatible with Toyotomi's pot stand (gotoku, sold separately) made for RB and RL series stoves, so it can also be used for hot pot dishes and simmered dishes. It is a stove that allows a winter way of spending time: sitting in front of a kerosene stove, listening to the sound of a pot gently simmering.

The "Moon Lighter" Lettering Speaks Quietly

Moon Lighter lettering

The front panel carries the words "Moon Lighter." Even when the stove is off, this lettering quietly tells the character of the stove. It has a sharp guard and a body unified in black, and its presence blends into the room as a winter interior piece whether lit or unlit.
