Filmarks, Japan's largest movie, drama, and anime review service, has announced a first-ever 4K revival screening of the landmark Korean zombie film Train to Busan (directed by Yeon Sang-ho, starring Gong Yoo), running for a one-week limited engagement nationwide from Friday, August 21, 2026, as part of its revival screening project.
To mark the occasion, a first-come, first-served entry gift — a "Train to Busan boarding ticket" — will be distributed in limited quantities. The ticket is an original "if" item imagining what a boarding pass from the film might look like, printed with the in-film route "Seoul to Busan."
The moment moviegoers receive this ticket, the theater entrance becomes the boarding gate for KTX 101, the train from the film — and moviegoers become passengers sharing the same fate as the film's characters. This is an experience unique to theatrical viewing, designed to stir that sense of imagination.
A Limited Item Designed to Maximize the Theatrical Experience
The design is modeled on an actual ticket for Korea's KTX high-speed rail, accented with blood-spatter graphics evoking the film's intense survival story.
Front
The front of the ticket is filled with details tied to the film and this 4K revival screening: the in-film route "Seoul to Busan," protagonist Seok-woo's (Gong Yoo) name printed in Hangul as "서석우," "Car 3" — the carriage he rides in with his daughter Su-an — and a "4K Seat" designation referencing this revival screening.
Back
The back of the ticket carries a "Notice" section with three lines: "1. Please make sure not to miss boarding at your seat," "2. Exiting partway through the screening is not permitted," and "3. This ticket does not guarantee safe arrival at the final stop, Busan" — an unsettling notice fitting for the film that builds tension and atmosphere before the screening even begins.
Moviegoers are invited to pick up this limited item, which brings the world of Train to Busan closer, at theaters during this engagement.

Train to Busan is a landmark Korean zombie horror film depicting a pandemic that breaks out aboard a Korean high-speed train traveling at 300 km/h. Its human drama under extreme conditions struck a chord with audiences, earning it recognition as a "zombie film that makes you cry" and a "paradigm shift for zombie films," and sparking the wider "K-zombie" boom.
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Train to Busan's production. It also comes just ahead of the Japanese theatrical release of director Yeon Sang-ho's long-awaited latest film, Kao (顔 -かお-), on August 28, 2026. With the Netflix series Gas Ningen (『ガス人間』) and his new film Colony (Japanese working title: Guntai), which received an official invitation to the 79th Cannes Film Festival, renewed global attention is once again turning to Yeon Sang-ho's work.
Audiences are invited to enjoy this first 4K screening, arriving in the midst of this "Year of Yeon Sang-ho," on the big screen with the entry gift in hand.
