ABEMA, the internet TV service, is launching a limited-time "Ultraman 60th Anniversary Channel" to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman series. Starting July 3, 2026 (Friday) at 6:00 PM, 23 series from the franchise will be broadcast daily for free through July 29, 2026 (Wednesday).
The Ultraman series, produced by Tsuburaya Productions, traces its origins to Ultra Q, which began airing in January 1966, and Ultraman, which followed in July of that same year. The franchise has depicted the battles of Ultra Heroes defending Earth from monsters and aliens, carrying universal themes of courage, hope, and compassion across the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras. In addition to the TV series, numerous related works including films and streaming titles have been produced, making it one of Japan's most beloved hero franchises across generations.
The channel will feature titles spanning all eras — from the Showa classics Ultra Q and Ultraman, through Heisei entries like Ultraman Gaia, Ultraman Cosmos, and Ultraman Mebius, to Reiwa-era works including Ultraman Z, Ultraman Blazar, Ultraman Arc, and Ultraman Omega. Episodes will be available to watch for free for one week after broadcast.
