Japan's first sea grape theme park, "Kaibudo Noen Uminchi" (located in Itoman, Okinawa), is coming to Ikebukuro, Tokyo for a limited-time pop-up. From May 22 (Fri) to May 31 (Sun), 2026, Uminchi will exhibit at the "17th Sunshine City Okinawa Mensore Festa" at Sunshine City — the park's second consecutive year at the event.
The "Sunshine City Okinawa Mensore Festa" is an annual event themed around Okinawa, featuring diverse programs inside and outside Sunshine City. This year, 55 exhibitors are participating, offering regional products, gourmet food, and cultural experiences that bring the spirit of Okinawa to Tokyo.
At the Uminchi booth, a special festival-exclusive version of the popular "Sea Grape Scooping Experience" will be held. The booth also offers fresh sea grapes airlifted daily from Okinawa for both purchase and eat-in, along with the "Fresh Sea Grape Soft Cream" — a unique sweet known for its pop texture and gentle saltiness that has drawn visitors to the Okinawa facility from far afield.
Experiences that are typically only available at the Uminchi facility in Okinawa, which welcomes approximately 50,000 domestic and international visitors annually, will be available in Tokyo during this limited period.

Sea Grape Scooping Experience
Using a poi — the scooping tool typically seen at traditional Japanese festival goldfish-scooping stalls — participants scoop sea grapes and take home a pack filled with the amount they collect. Visitors can enjoy the signature pop texture of fresh sea grapes delivered directly from Okinawa. The activity is suitable for all ages, from small children to adults.
- Price: ¥1,000 (tax included) per round

Fresh Sea Grape Soft Cream
Soft serve ice cream topped with fresh sea grapes — a novel sweet treat that has attracted visitors to the Okinawa facility from far-off regions. The refreshing saltiness of the sea grapes balances perfectly with the rich sweetness of the cream.
- Price: ¥800 (tax included) per piece

Fukuramu Puchipuchi Sea Grapes (Puchi-Shaki Type)
Winner of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the Japan Monozukuri Grand Prize
Preserved using high-concentration salt water technology that allows a 2-year shelf life, this product retains the stem of the sea grape — unlike typical products where only the round grape parts are served. The addition of the stem creates a satisfying crunch alongside the iconic pop texture, resulting in the signature "puchi-shaki" (pop-and-crunch) sensation. The product pairs well with seafood salads, egg-on-rice dishes, and more. Sea grapes are recognized as a superfood containing 55 types of nutrients, and this individually packaged product with a resealable zipper makes it easy to use in small amounts.
- Price: ¥600 (tax included) per bag

Morning-Harvested Fresh Sea Grapes
Fresh sea grapes grown in the Okinawan ocean, available to enjoy in their natural freshness shortly after harvest. Known for their pop texture and refreshing flavor, the sea grapes are available for both purchase and eat-in.
