A new Pokémon-themed foot bath, "Wakura Pokémon Foot Bath," opened at noon on May 12, 2026 at the "Yuttari Park" facility in Wakura Onsen, Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The facility is a collaboration between the Pokémon With You Foundation and Nanao City, created by renovating the existing foot bath within the park.
The Poké Lid installed in Nanao City features Gyarados, Poliwag, and Poliwrath — the same Pokémon that appear at this foot bath.

An unveiling ceremony was held on May 12 to mark the opening. Local nursery school children also attended and had the chance to try out the newly completed foot bath. Wakura Onsen's Recovery Progress
The 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake caused severe damage to many facilities that support the region's tourism and economy, forcing widespread closures. At one point, all 19 inns in the area had suspended operations. Currently, 9 out of 19 inns have resumed business, and the area's main public bathhouse (Soto) and local shops are also gradually reopening.
While full recovery is still ongoing, the "Wakura Pokémon Foot Bath" is seen as a source of energy and encouragement for the local community, with the hope that visitors coming to experience the foot bath will help support the ongoing recovery.
