WILDSIDE (ワイルドサイド), an edgy conceptual project run by Yohji Yamamoto Inc., is releasing new collaboration sneakers with FINE VULCANIZED (ファインヴァルカナイズ), a product line from MOONSTAR. They go on sale on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, on the official WILDSIDE online platform and at WILDSIDE YOHJI YAMAMOTO OSAKA, WILDSIDE YOHJI YAMAMOTO HARAJUKU, and Yohji Yamamoto Hankyu MEN'S TOKYO (阪急MEN’S TOKYO).
About the Collaboration
This is the first collaboration between WILDSIDE and MOONSTAR. The sneakers combine WILDSIDE's refined design with the shoemaking techniques MOONSTAR has built up over the years.
Design and Details
The sneakers are based on GYM CLASSIC, a standard model that has long been a MOONSTAR icon. It recreates, in a modern form, training shoes that were produced in the 1960s, and it is finished using MOONSTAR's own "vulcanized" (ヴァルカナイズ) construction method. The upper is made of durable cotton canvas, and the rubber sole is customized in black. The result keeps the classic look while adding the WILDSIDE touch.
An embroidered round WILDSIDE logo sits on the heel. The stitching and color scheme have also been adjusted, so the WILDSIDE design carries through to the finer details. Round laces in two colors, black and white, come with the pair, allowing the look to change with your mood or styling.
Made in Kurume
The sneakers are produced in an in-house factory as "MADE IN KURUME" (久留米市, Kurume City). Their minimal shape combines the flexibility suited to everyday wear with durability. Blending traditional construction methods with modern design, they reflect the craftsmanship of both WILDSIDE and MOONSTAR.

About MOONSTAR
MOONSTAR is a Japanese shoemaker founded in 1873. It originated in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and began by making tabi (Japanese split-toe socks). Its range then expanded to jika-tabi (work footwear), cloth shoes, and rubber shoes. For more than 150 years it has developed and passed down its own shoemaking techniques in Kurume, continuing to make shoes that suit the everyday lives of the people who wear them.
