The Royal Mint Releases "Friendship," the Final Chapter of the Winnie-the-Pooh 100th Anniversary Coin Series

The Royal Mint's three-part coin series commemorating the 100th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh has reached its conclusion. The third and final installment — themed "Friendship" — was released as a gold and silver coin on June 11, 2026.

Product Overview

Winnie-the-Pooh is the beloved stuffed bear at the heart of Winnie the Pooh, a children's book by A.A. Milne (Alan Alexander Milne), first published in 1926. Set in the Hundred Acre Wood, the story features a cast of iconic characters alongside Pooh: Piglet, a sweet pink-eared pig; Tigger, an energetic tiger; Eeyore, a good-natured donkey; and Christopher Robin, a kind-hearted young boy.

Milne drew inspiration from his son Christopher Robin Milne's own teddy bear, incorporating the boy himself as a character in the stories. The ten charming episodic adventures — originally written to be read aloud — gained worldwide recognition after Walt Disney brought them to life through animation.

With Winnie-the-Pooh celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the Royal Mint announced a three-coin commemorative series to mark the milestone.

The first coin's theme is "Kindness"

This coin depicts Pooh holding a bouquet of flowers, capturing the gentle warmth and kindness he shows his friends throughout the story.

The second coin's theme is "Loyalty"

This design shows Christopher Robin and Pooh walking hand in hand through the forest.

The third and final coin's theme is "Friendship"

The final chapter features the beloved quartet — Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Pooh — depicted in a joyful gathering. Like the previous coins, the design employs a watercolor-like style reminiscent of E.H. Shepard's original illustrations, evoking a sense of warmth and tenderness.

Each coin comes with an acrylic case decorated with a honeycomb motif, making it a display-worthy piece on its own.

This series is a collaboration between the Royal Mint and The Walt Disney Company, and with this third release, the collection is now complete. Across all three coins, the enduring charm of Winnie-the-Pooh shines through beautifully — a fitting tribute to a century of beloved storytelling.
