About the Renewal
Doraemon Future Department Store opened on December 1, 2019 at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo, as the world's first official Doraemon shop. Under the concept "Helping make your future a little better" (きみの未来を、ちょっとよくするお手伝い), it has carried original goods and other Doraemon-related products.
As the shop marks its 7th anniversary this year, the store design is being renewed around the theme of Doraemon's "secret gadgets" (ひみつ道具). Neon-style decorations of familiar gadgets such as the Bamboo-Copter (タケコプター), the Anywhere Door (どこでもドア), and the Time Cloth (タイムふろしき) are installed on the ceiling. At the entrance, a decoration based on the cover of Volume 1 of the Tentomushi Comics edition of Doraemon greets visitors. Surrounded by the secret gadgets from the series, shoppers can take in the world of the story while they browse.
To coincide with the reopening, new Doraemon Future Department Store exclusive items designed around the neon-style decorations in the store go on sale, along with other new products such as a tabletop humidifier suited to the coming season. A purchase bonus to commemorate the reopening is also available.
