Yaguchi Takao no Sekai ART WORK 1969-2020 Art Book Released — 200 Color Illustrations Including Unpublished Fisherman Sanpei Works

A new art book, Yaguchi Takao no Sekai ART WORK 1969-2020, is now on sale at bookstores nationwide as of March 31, 2026. Published by San-ei Corp, the book brings together 200 color illustrations by manga artist Yaguchi Takao — reproduced in high resolution directly from original artwork — along with color pieces from Fisherman Sanpei that were never included in the series' collected volumes.

Yaguchi Takao, the artist behind Fisherman Sanpei and numerous other beloved works, has drawn fans from around the world with his depictions of nature and the people and animals within it. His illustrations have a way of drawing readers into the landscapes he portrays — evoking the sights, sounds, and textures of the natural world with remarkable immediacy.

This volume presents that imagery in its finest form, covering works from Yaguchi's debut to his later career. Titles featured include Tsuribaka-tachi (Fishing Fools), Maboroshi no Kaija Bachhebi (The Phantom Monster Snake Bachhebi), Matagi, Nippon Hakubutsushi (Japan Natural History), Oraga Mura (My Village), Keisetsu Jidai (Study Days), and 9 de Ware!! (Divide by 9!!), among others.

In addition to the illustrations, the book includes essays and commentary from those connected to the artist, making it a comprehensive record of Yaguchi Takao's creative output.
