Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Festival - Autumn Event Featuring Ginkgo Tree Avenue and Gourmet Food
About This Event
The Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Festival, held annually at Meiji Jingu Gaien in central Tokyo, is one of the city center's largest autumn events that has been continuing since 1997. The venue is the golden ginkgo tree avenue stretching approximately 300 meters from Aoyama Street to the Seitoku Memorial Picture Gallery, where 146 ginkgo trees planted in four rows captivate visitors with their beautiful perspective utilizing forced perspective. Each ginkgo tree is carefully pruned into a conical shape, creating a perfect landscape that resembles a painting.
As autumn deepens and the golden leaves begin to fall, the tree-lined avenue is covered with a yellow carpet, completing a scene that symbolizes Japan's autumn. From evening, illumination is provided, creating a fantastic atmosphere different from daytime.
The ginkgo festival, held during the peak autumn foliage season, features food stalls offering carefully selected gourmet cuisine, shops handling specialty products, and family-friendly events, bustling with large crowds. The venue is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Gaienmae Station.
Please note that the ginkgo festival may be canceled due to the impact of redevelopment construction around Jingu Gaien. Please be sure to check the implementation status before visiting.
