The Kawagoe area, affectionately known as "Little Edo," is a popular sightseeing spot with historic scenery such as traditional kura-style warehouses and the iconic Toki no Kane bell tower. During the day, it is bustling with visitors enjoying Kashiya Yokocho (Candy Alley) and various street foods, but in the evening the atmosphere becomes calm and relaxed. Around Kawagoe Station and Hon-Kawagoe Station, izakayas and eateries are clustered within walking distance, making it possible to enjoy bar hopping at two or three different venues. From casual local izakayas frequented by residents to more refined dining bars, the area offers a wide range of options. On the other hand, the old kura-style townscape area has fewer places open at night, so for nightlife it is recommended to head toward the station area.
