Japanese umbrella brand Hokusai Graphic has launched two new 16-rib long umbrellas featuring sky motifs. The "Raiun (Thundercloud)" and "Yugumo (Evening Cloud)" models went on sale September 19 at Hokusai Graphic retail stores and on The Ichi online shopping platform.
New Sky-Themed 16-Rib Umbrella Series
The new additions to the sky-themed 16-rib long umbrella series feature contrasting interpretations of cloud patterns—one dynamic and powerful, the other serene and peaceful. Both designs showcase vibrant color palettes centered around cloud motifs. These umbrellas capture the ever-changing expressions of the sky like works of art, bringing color and elegance to everyday life.
The umbrellas combine natural wood shafts with lightweight, durable fiberglass ribs, creating a smooth manual opening and closing mechanism that's comfortable to use. Craftsmen carefully align and join the fabric panels by hand, resulting in beautiful, seamless construction.
With UV protection coating, these umbrellas are suitable for both rainy and sunny days.
16-Rib Long Umbrella: Raiun (Thundercloud)
This design features a striking depiction of lightning breaking through dark clouds. It simultaneously expresses nature's fearsome power and beauty—a signature approach of Hokusai Graphic's design philosophy.
