Takamiya Garden Tearoom to Hold "Autumn Evening" Event Featuring Ukiyo-e Art

Takamiya Garden Tearoom, located in Minami Ward, Fukuoka City, will host its popular annual event "Autumn Evening" (Aki no Yoi) for a limited period from November 1 (Saturday) to November 30 (Sunday), 2025. This year's theme focuses on "ukiyo-e," the traditional Japanese woodblock prints that are gaining renewed attention both domestically and internationally, offering visitors a unique experience that combines Japanese art with fine cuisine.

The "Autumn Evening" event has been well-received as a celebration of traditional Japanese culture. For its third year, the event introduces a new artistic approach. Positioning Takamiya Garden Tearoom as a "cultural hub," the venue aims to promote the traditional arts that Japan has cherished for centuries through an experience called "Yugen Bishoku" (Ethereal Fine Dining). This concept embodies the idea of presenting and savoring the subtle beauty hidden in the margins of art on each plate. Rather than simply tasting dishes, visitors can enjoy a culinary experience that merges art and food, creating new value for the "Autumn Evening" event.

Course Menu

The course menu features dishes inspired by foods and ingredients that appear in ukiyo-e artworks, creatively expressing these elements throughout the meal.

Experience Edo Period "Chrysanthemum Viewing" Culture

Chrysanthemums, one of autumn's representative flowers, became widely cultivated in Japan during the Edo period. The practice of "kiku-mi" (chrysanthemum viewing), a popular gathering to admire chrysanthemums, is said to have flourished among common people at that time. During this event, the restaurant will be decorated with chrysanthemums, allowing diners to enjoy their meals in a space that evokes the atmosphere of that historical period.
