This time, I went to Hoppy Street in Asakusa and enjoyed bar hopping alone! Hoppy street is lined with a lot of retro izakaya shops with Showa era vibes, had so much fun of drinking from the midday! Travel Itinerary

Asakusa Station (浅草駅)

Start from Asakusa station. Passing through Kaminari-mon Gate and Nakamise while enjoying sightseeing, then heading to Hoppy Street!

Asakusa Station is a Tobu Railway, Tokyo Metro, and Toei Subway station located in Taito-ku, Tokyo, and is the gateway to Asakusa. It is often used as a base for sightseeing in Asakusa, as famous sightseeing spots such as Senso-ji Temple are nearby. Visitors can also enjoy sightseeing by rickshaw.

Koen Hondori (Hoppy Street/Nikomi Street)(公園本通り(ホッピー通り、煮込み通り) )

After a 10-minute walk, you will arrive at Hoppy Street, a popular spot lined with izakaya (Japanese-style pubs) with a oldtown atmosphere! There are so many shops to choose from, it is hard to decide which one to go to.

Koen Hondori (Hoppy Street,NikomiStreet), located in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo, is a drinking street lined with taverns and bars that are busy from noon. Many of the stores have a nostalgic old-fashioned atmosphere and are visited by both local regulars and tourists traveling to Tokyo. In particular, “nikomi” (stewed) dishes are famous, and the taste varies from store to store. Hoppy, a drink mixed with shochu (distilled spirit), has also been a popular of the area for a long time. The restaurant is busy from noon onward, and visitors can enjoy a drink. The number of female customers is increasing, making it a spot where young women can casually enjoy themselves.

Asakusa-sakaba Okamoto Hoppy Street (浅草酒場 岡本 ホッピー通り店)

The first stop is Asakusa sakaba Okamoto, a long-established shop in business for more than 60 years. The shop has a retro Showa-era atmosphere, with a counter, tables, and a tatami room.
