This time, we took the etSETOra to Ohkunoshima Island, famous for its rabbits.This is a luxury trip that also marks my first solo camping debut. This article is about the second day of the event. Please refer to it!

Kyukamura Ohkunoshima is an accommodation facility located in Tadanoumi-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. In addition to natural hot springs and seasonal cuisine using seasonal ingredients from the Seto Inland Sea, the facility offers a wide range of facilities such as cycling, camping, and an outdoor swimming pool, which can also be used on a day-trip basis.

10:00am Rabbit Ear Sound Collector(うさぎ耳集音器)

A sound collector that I found yesterday that can hear the sound of a boat.It is cute in the shape of a rabbit!

The “Rabbit Ear Sound Collector,” located in Tadanoumi-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is a popular tourist attraction on Okunojima Island. When you put your head inside the rabbit-shaped object, you can hear birds chirping, the sound of waves, and the sound of the wind running. Since it can be used by up to four people, it is recommended for commemorative photos for group trips.

Power Plant Site

We will explore the island in a counterclockwise direction! It is said to be the place that supplied the power for the production of poison gas when it was being produced on Ohkunoshima Island.

Located in Tadanoumi-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, the “Ruins of Power Plant” used to supply the electricity necessary for the production of poison gas on Okunojima. Several diesel generators fueled by heavy oil are located in the facility, giving visitors a sense of the history of those days.

As we proceeded through the mountains … we arrived at the site where a gun emplacement had once been located!

Ruins of Northern Battery Observatory, located in Chukai-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is the site of the Geyo Fortress battery built in 1902, before the Russo-Japanese War. A total of 22 cannons were installed on Okunojima Island in the northern, central, and southern parts of the island.

Remains of Nagaura Poison gas storehouse(長浦毒ガス貯蔵庫跡)

When I was walking around, I found it! The poison gas they made was stored here.

The Remains of Nagaura Poison gas storehouse, located in Tadanoumi-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, was once used as the largest poison gas storage facility on the island. It is said that six tanks with a capacity of approximately 100 tons were installed, and their presence is enough to make one stop even without looking at a map. The site is now preserved as a historic site and is a spot of great historical value.

Ohkunoshima Island Lighthouse(大久野島灯台)

We spent about 40 minutes circling the island! After checking out of the Kyukamura, we went to the lighthouse. The water seemed even clearer in the ocean near the lighthouse!

Ohkunoshima Island Lighthouse is located in Tadanoumi-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is also known as a “lighthouse in love,” having been recognized by lighthouses throughout Japan as a suitable sacred place for romance.

Sunset Hill(夕日の丘)

It was in the lighthouse area, so I stopped by. Even without the sunset, it is a spectacular spot!

Finally, the trip is over! Return to the hotel and take the shuttle bus back to the port.

Sunset Hill, located in Tadanoumi-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is situated around a lighthouse and offers a spectacular view. The spacious area is perfect for picnics with leisure sheets spread out.

12:00pm Tadanoumi Port(忠海港)

We took the ferry back to Tadanoumi Port.

I was very happy to spend a fulfilling night and two days with the rabbits!

By the way, where you can see a lot of rabbits in Ohkunoshima Island, The park is near the second pier, around the camp site, and in front of the Kyukamura Ohkunoshima.Please go there!

Tadanoumi Port is a harbor in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is also used as a boat port. The port has a souvenir store overflowing with rabbit goods, and you can also purchase ferry tickets to Ohkunoshima Island and store your luggage. Ferry service to Ohkunoshima Island is also available from Takehara Port for convenient access.
