Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store is holding the Tokushima edition of its "Harukas Nippon Expo: Regional Discovery Journey," a regional revitalization project launched in spring 2026, from September 23 (Wednesday, national holiday), 2026.
Under the local Awa dialect catchphrase "Ee mon, yoke aru jo. Asobi ni kida" ("We've got plenty of good stuff — come on by and enjoy!"), the fair spotlights Tokushima's many charms throughout the store. Highlights include a hands-on Awa Odori dance event, a "Tokushima Gourmet Fest" where 8 of the 13 participating brands make their first appearance at a Kintetsu department store, and full-size ceramic-board reproductions of works by Vermeer, Leonardo da Vinci, and Van Gogh, organized with cooperation from the Otsuka Museum of Art — spanning themes of culture, food, and art.
A travel information session held with Club Tourism — part of KNT-CT Holdings Co., Ltd., which belongs to the same Kintetsu Group — will also connect visitors from Abeno Harukas to an actual trip to Tokushima.

2F Welcome Galleria & Wing Building 3F East Plaza: A Hands-On Awa Odori Dance Event
About 40 dancers from Kansai-based "ren" (Awa Odori dance troupes) perform a powerful routine. This time, visitors can do more than just watch — after a short lecture, they can join in and dance alongside the performers, experiencing the energy and joy of Tokushima's celebrated traditional culture firsthand.

2F Welcome Galleria: Full-Size Ceramic-Board Reproductions From the Otsuka Museum of Art
A booth introduces the Otsuka Museum of Art, known for reproducing the world's masterpieces at full size on ceramic boards. With interest in the Dutch master Vermeer currently running high in the Kansai region, the display features three full-size ceramic-board reproductions: Vermeer's "The Milkmaid," Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa," and Van Gogh's "Sunflowers."

Museum staff introduce the museum's highlights and talk about the much-discussed Vermeer works — a rare chance to discover something new.
An Art Cosplay Corner, Too
The popular art cosplay corner from the Otsuka Museum of Art also makes an appearance. Visitors can dress up in costumes and accessories to become "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and enjoy taking photos.

The prefecture's largest antenna shop, a favorite among tourists for its wide selection of Tokushima specialty goods, appears for the first time. From long-standing signature sweets to local foods beloved by residents, it brings a variety of Tokushima specialties to the fair.
2F Welcome Galleria: Club Tourism's Travel Proposals, Making Harukas Your Starting Point

A PR booth shares tourism information about Tokushima. From 2:30 PM on September 23 (Wed, holiday), a "Tokushima Selected Course Information Session" will also be held. Representatives from the Otsuka Museum of Art — a stop included in the tour — and the Nishi-Awa Fireworks Festival office will also take the stage to introduce the tour and Tokushima's appeal, proposing a trip visitors will want to take.
On September 26 (Sat) and 27 (Sun), the booth will also offer information on enjoying "Aoawo Naruto Resort," a Southern European-style resort hotel located within Setonaikai National Park in Naruto — the town known for its whirlpools — along with general Tokushima tourism information.

Awa Odori is introduced through video and striking photography. Actual yukata, kimono, and woven "amigasa" hats worn by dancers are also on display, letting visitors experience up close the beauty of the dancers' costumes and the energetic atmosphere of the festival.

Tokushima Prefecture is known for its production of "sukumo," the fermented indigo leaf dye used as the base for indigo dyeing. Indigo-dyed items blend beautifully into both fashion and everyday life.

Kintetsu Department Store launched this regional revitalization project at Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store in spring 2026, partnering with local governments and businesses across Japan to spotlight each region's distinctive appeal.
Going beyond a typical prefecture products fair, the project dedicates the entire store to a single prefecture at a time, using Abeno Harukas as a stage to connect people, places, and stories — and to build on those connections over time, delivering each region's charm to a wider audience.
