Allbirds, a brand that brings comfort and sustainability to footwear using natural materials, is launching the Breezer Point, a new pointed-toe flat from their popular eucalyptus fiber-based Breezer series, on February 19th, 2026. After approximately three years of development, this new model features improved heel fit compared to previous versions, with a structure designed to "prevent slipping and reduce blisters." Additionally, the existing Tree Breezer model is welcoming new spring colors.
Development Background: No More "Fashion Means Suffering" - A Solution for Footwear Concerns
When it comes to pumps, many have worn them despite concerns like "foot pain," "blisters," and "easy slipping," all in the name of etiquette and beauty.
While Allbirds' women's No.1 series, the Breezer, has received praise for its comfort during wear, machine washability, and ease of walking barefoot without strain on the legs, the brand has received many requests for "a sharp pointed design that's easy to wear for work and outings."
To answer these requests, Allbirds spent approximately three years in development. Rather than simply changing the shape, the team created numerous prototypes to eliminate the "toe constriction" and "heel slippage" characteristic of pointed-toe shoes, achieving both the comfort level of sneakers and an elegant silhouette.
Three Features of the Breezer Point
1. Eucalyptus Fiber Gently Wraps Your Feet in "Barefoot-Like Freedom"
The upper uses natural material made from eucalyptus tree fibers. It combines a silky smooth texture, high breathability, and the stretchability characteristic of knit fabric. This allows the material to gently stretch to accommodate your foot shape, providing a stress-free wearing experience with minimal tightness, even for those concerned about bunions or wide feet.
2. Adhesive Fit That Prevents Heel Slippage
The sole uses sugarcane-derived carbon-negative material, achieving cushioning that sets it apart from typical pumps. Furthermore, this update incorporates elastic ribbed knitting (with rubber) at the opening. This prevents the "heel slippage" common with pointed-toe shoes, providing an adhesive fit that keeps the shoes secure even when running.
3. "Washable and Replaceable" for Long-Lasting Love
Most Allbirds shoes can be machine washed. You can maintain cleanliness even when wearing barefoot during the sweaty spring and summer months. Additionally, when the cushioning wears out, you can purchase replacement insoles only (coming soon). This approach reconsiders the consumption cycle of "throw away when painful" and "replace when dirty," proposing an environmentally and personally friendly choice of continuing to wear your favorite pair for a long time.

About Allbirds
Allbirds was born in San Francisco in 2016 through the unlikely partnership of Tim Brown, a former New Zealand national soccer player, and Joey Zwillinger, a biotechnology expert.
