Starting in August 2026, Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo (General Manager: Takuto Yoshida) is introducing a new workshop where guests create colorful flower art objects together with art and ikebana artist Norihiko Kamei. Held monthly from August 2026 through March 2027, the program is a collaboration with Otonami, a service offering refined experiences for adults.
Ascott Soiree, the hospitality brand's signature experience program, invites guests to engage with art, culture, craft, and food. At Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo, where rooms come with a full kitchen and laundry facilities, the "Art of Living" concept runs throughout a stay, weaving art and creativity into everyday moments.
Otonami connects guests with Japan's culture, craftsmanship, and genuine value through refined experiences for adults. The new workshop grew out of a shared goal between the two brands to deliver experiences with real substance.
Held in a room overlooking the Imperial Palace and the surrounding skyline, the workshop offers a quiet, open escape from the pace of the city center. Guests spend time with Kamei, an art and ikebana artist, shaping a palm-sized art object of their own.
Participants choose one of two art objects to create: "Keshiki-fu," which uses a floating stone to form a three-dimensional natural scene, or "Hakoniwa," a small world built inside a paulownia wood box. Along with colorful preserved and dried flowers, guests use gold, silver, and pink-gold flower materials prepared exclusively for this program to bring their own imagined scenery to life. In the unhurried atmosphere of Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo, guests can enjoy conversation with Kamei while creating a scene they have never seen before.

The workshop takes place in a two-bedroom Japanese-Western suite with an Imperial Palace view, available only to guests staying at Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo. The open, airy room comes with a full kitchen and a washer-dryer, blending everyday comfort with a special occasion.

The program continues through March 2027. Reservations for sessions held through October 2026 open today, July 2, while reservations for sessions from November 2026 onward open in mid-September — see the collaboration page for details.
