What Is Aso Drone Tegata BIZ?
Aso Drone Tegata BIZ turns a bokuya (pasture) in Aso, originally used for grazing cattle, into a private drone field that is rented out exclusively to one company per day. The service began in 2022. The land is private property that no one outside the parties involved can enter, and it accepts aircraft of any type, from small drones to large aircraft, VTOLs and fixed-wing aircraft. It supports flight tests, demonstration experiments, product demos and training sessions, with use ranging from a single day to long-term continuous use.
What's New
1. Larger Flight Area (Up to About 300 ha)
An adjacent pasture has been added as an "extension field." Combined with the main field of about 150 ha, flights are now possible over up to about 300 ha, roughly the size of 60 Tokyo Domes. The space can be used to design long-distance routes and to run flight tests of large aircraft and VTOLs. Please note that the extension field requires coordination with grazing.
2. Landing Pad Built on High Ground (10 m Square)
A 10 m square landing pad has been built in an open hilltop area with good visibility. It can be used as a base and for takeoffs and landings of large aircraft and VTOLs.
3. Cottage Rental
A cottage equipped with electricity, running water, tables and chairs is available for rent. It can be used as a base for storing and maintaining equipment, holding seminars and working on PCs, including for long-term use.
