Brompton Ride Event "A Day Out with Brompton at CYCLO DONUTS" Comes to Nagareyama, Chiba on November 7 and 8

A pop-up event, "A Day Out with Brompton at CYCLO DONUTS," will be held on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the donut shop CYCLO DONUTS in Nagareyama, Chiba Prefecture.

Built around the London-born folding bike Brompton and the donuts handmade every morning at CYCLO DONUTS, the event is meant to make an ordinary weekend a little more special. Three programs are offered, a long ride that goes a bit farther afield, a gravel ride on the G Line, and a relaxed short ride around the neighborhood, and participants are being recruited.

Brompton test bikes are provided for every program, so people who do not own a Brompton or have never ridden one can still enjoy the ride. The ride programs are free of charge, with a capacity of 7 people per session on a first-come, first-served basis, and advance registration is the basic rule. No reservation is needed just to visit the venue, and those who are not riding can try a Brompton and enjoy the donuts on site.

Brompton, Donuts and a Slightly Better Weekend

With the air clear and the season comfortable for getting around by bike, the idea is to choose a favorite donut and head out with a Brompton to the town or the riverside. Whether visitors want a proper ride or a stroll through the streets, the event offers ways to spend the weekend in their own style.

Besides riding, the three programs let participants enjoy the scenery of the town beyond the route and the time spent with others. Brompton original donuts will also be served on the day. Visitors can take part in a ride, or simply drop by to enjoy the donuts and a quick Brompton test ride, with family or friends.

The Three Ride Programs

The three programs differ in distance and road surface, so participants can choose one to suit their mood and experience. Each starts from CYCLO DONUTS, and after the ride, participants can rest again at the shop with donuts and coffee, enjoying both the riding and the time at the shop.

1. LONG RIDE: A Trip of About 46.4 km, a Little Farther Afield

This long ride follows the Edogawa River. The route is relatively flat, so riders can enjoy the scenery of the town and the riverside while discovering how far a Brompton can take them. It is recommended for those who want to "see how far a Brompton can go" or "get a proper ride in over the weekend."

  • Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026
  • Time: 9:30 AM check-in, 10:00 AM start, scheduled to end at 1:00 PM (about 3 hours)
  • Distance: About 46.4 km (about 98% paved roads)
  • Test bikes: C Line, P Line, T Line, G Line
  • Capacity: First-come, first-served, 7 people (advance registration is the basic rule)
  • Fee: Free (food, drink, transportation and other costs are paid by participants)
  • Course (tentative): LONG RIDE course map

2. GRAVEL ESCAPE: A Little Beyond the Usual Roads with the G Line

This program takes the Brompton G Line on a course of about 24.4 km that mixes paved and unpaved roads. About one third of the route, roughly 8.1 km, is unpaved. Riders explore "roads they never knew" right next to town, adding a small adventure to an ordinary outing. On the unpaved sections, the group rides at a safe pace suited to participants' experience and the road conditions.

  • Time: 9:30 AM check-in, 10:00 AM start, scheduled to end at 12:00 PM (about 2 hours)

3. LITTLE TRIP: A Relaxed Ride Around the Neighborhood, Like a Stroll

This short ride of about 5.4 km is easy to join even for those who think, "I'm curious about Brompton, but a long distance worries me." Riders pedal slowly along a course that is entirely paved, getting a feel for the Brompton's light ride and easy handling. It is also recommended for people not used to sport bikes and for first-time Brompton riders.

  • Date: Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026
  • Time: Both days 2:30 PM check-in, 3:00 PM start, scheduled to end at 4:20 PM (about 80 minutes)
