The anime park Nijigen no Mori on Awaji Island is set to host the 3rd Awaji Island COSPLAY Awacos Powered by World Cosplay Summit on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The event is organized in collaboration with WCS Co., Ltd., the organizer behind the World Cosplay Summit — one of the world's largest cosplay events.
Two previous editions of Awaji Island COSPLAY Awacos have already taken place at the park. Each time, cosplayers dressed as characters from a wide variety of anime, manga, and game franchises — not limited to titles featured in Nijigen no Mori's attractions — gathered on the island to enjoy photography and socializing surrounded by nature in all directions.
At the 2nd event held in February, cosplayers dressed as characters including Bumblebee from Transformers and characters from Uma Musume Pretty Derby, bringing a colorful atmosphere to the venue. Participants shared feedback such as: "It's great to be able to photograph at a place connected to the story," "The quality of photos taken here is really high," "It's easy to find good angles," and "It's rare to get a venue this spacious for shooting — it was a lot of fun."
The 3rd event was announced in response to enthusiasm from past participants and those who had been unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
