BAMBOO BASE KATSUURA, a private campsite surrounded by a 1,000 m² bamboo grove in Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, reopens after renewal on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The campsite accepts only one group per day.
It is the third campsite run by Camp for Life LLC, following REWILD GREEN FIELD CAMP (Katsuura City) and TSURUMAI CAMP PARK (Ichihara City).
Concept
1. BAMBOO: Beautiful Bamboo Groves Unique to Japan
The site is surrounded by a bamboo grove of impressive scale. Even on a clear day, the bamboo leaves soften the sunlight, and dappled light falls across the site. Breezes passing through the grove also keep the campsite cool in summer. Chiba is also the only prefecture on Honshu where bears do not live, so visitors can enjoy nature with greater peace of mind.
2. EXCLUSIVE: The Whole 1,000 m² Bamboo Grove for One Group a Day
Because the entire 1,000 m² bamboo grove is reserved for a single group each day, visitors don't need to worry about neighboring sites and can spend a free and relaxed time. The site can be used generously, and children can run around without concern. The campsite serves as a "base" (BASE) for everyone in the group.
3. EXPERIENCE: Quality Time with Close Friends and Family
The site has no dividers between sections, so tents and tarps can be laid out freely to suit the size and style of the group. Facilities needed for group camping are in place, including a large 20 m² wood deck, AC power, a kitchen space (with hot water), and separate men's and women's toilets with bidet seats.
