The experiential event Bread Thief Plaza, bringing together characters from the beloved Bread Thief picture book series, opens tomorrow, January 31st. Today marks the first public reveal of the venue's interior photos.
We're also bringing you a fast preview report from today's media preview, where author Keiko Shibata and the Big Bread Thief made an appearance.

We're bringing you a report from the Bread Thief Plaza preview event held today, January 30th.
- Media interviews featured author Keiko Shibata and the Big Bread Thief!
Ms. Shibata signed the entrance to Bread Thief Plaza with her autograph!
The three original illustrations for Bread Thief Plaza were specially created with the hope that visitors would have a blast at the plaza. Ms. Shibata was particularly delighted to see the paper bags turned into merchandise.
When Ms. Shibata actually experienced Bread Thief Plaza, she first enjoyed the Bread Thief Pool. She described the feeling of being in a sea of bread. With numerous photo spots and authentic recreations like the Hokka Hokka Car, she found the space where you can immerse yourself in the picture book world with all five senses so engaging that 90 minutes flew by. Above all, she was happiest that visitors can enjoy the same delicious bread that Bread Thief loves to eat. She praised all the bread as delicious.
There's apparently a hidden signature from Ms. Shibata somewhere in the venue. A hint is posted on Bread Thief Plaza's official X. Try to find it!
- Prior to the public opening, a preview event was held exclusively for members of the official Bread Thief fan club "Itoshi no Pan Club." Visitors were seen taking photos of each other and capturing their favorite plushies enjoying Bread Thief Plaza.

Advance tickets for Bread Thief Plaza went on sale starting December 26th at 12:00 PM on a first-come, first-served basis. Each time slot has limited availability, so don't miss out.
Also available in limited quantities is a Special Ticket that includes an exclusive "Bread Thief Shoulder Plushie," one photo session with the Big Bread Thief, and an admission ticket.
The Bread Thief Shoulder Plushie can be attached to bag straps and worn.

Bread Thief Exhibition
The Bread Thief Exhibition started in August 2024 at Matsuya Ginza and is touring nationwide.
This exhibition displays original artwork from "Bread Thief," "Bread Thief vs. Fake Bread Thief," "Bread Thief and the Mysterious French Bread," "Bread Thief and Onigiri Boy's Journey," "Bread Thief and Hokka Hokka Car," and "Bread Thief and Apple Mask," along with character designs and rough sketches. The exhibition also features numerous photo spots where you can experience the Bread Thief world.
The exhibition space is packed with Bread Thief's charming and surreal fun. The merchandise corner sells commemorative goods featuring specially drawn artwork.
