About Muchu Planet
- Muchu Planet is a shop-in-shop style kids park developed jointly by Tohan and Litpla. The first permanent store, Muchu Planet TSUTAYA Lake Town (Muchu Planet TSUTAYAレイクタウン) in Koshigaya, Saitama, operated by Meibundo (明文堂), opened in April 2024. It had approximately 39,000 visitors in fiscal 2025, with a repeat visitor rate of about 25%.
- The second permanent store is on the 3rd floor of UNIQLO PARK Yokohama Bayside, next to Mitsui Outlet Park Yokohama Bayside. Along with the digital park, it has a retail area for books, goods, and toys, and is designed around the image of a "park" that people of all generations can enjoy.
Inside the Store
Digital Park
The digital park is a new type of indoor playground for families that uses the latest digital technology to stimulate children's curiosity and creativity. Its attractions combine traditional play, such as playing in the sand and coloring, with technologies such as projection mapping and AR (augmented reality), offering experiences where "play turns into learning."
As an original initiative of Muchu Planet, the park works with publishers and manufacturers to hold attractions and events in collaboration with picture books, illustrated encyclopedias, children's books, and educational content. As an opening event, coloring pages of Arashi Kurobane (アラシクロバネ) and Little Hanagashira (リトルハナガシラ) from Kobito Zukan (こびとづかん), published by Rokurinsha (ロクリン社), will appear in the popular attraction PAPER RIKISHI (ペーパーリキシ), also known as digital paper sumo, through November 8.
Some of the attractions are shown below.

Dive into a sea of balls in the ball pool ZABOOM JOURNEY (ザブーンジャーニー), filled with light and sound.

SAND PARTY! (サンドパーティ) is a sand play attraction of the future in which the terrain changes according to the height of the sand.

SKETCH RACING (スケッチレーシング) is a 3D drawing racing game in which children race in a vehicle they drew on paper.

DINO JUMPING (ディノジャンピング) is a mysterious long jump rope game in which players jump in time with a dinosaur's tail.

DARUMA INFINITY (ダルマインフィニティ) is a digital daruma otoshi (daruma knock-down) attraction.

PAPER RIKISHI (digital paper sumo), where the collaboration with Kobito Zukan (こびとづかん) can also be enjoyed.
Retail Area
The space around the digital park carries approximately 5,200 books and magazines and approximately 1,600 goods and toys.
The main shelves are arranged by five original themes, such as "EXPLORER" (an explorer who discovers the world) and "SHOWMAKER" (a director who creates excitement), with products grouped by themes that match children's interests. The upper shelves hold books for adults and the lower shelves hold books for children, so parents and children can look at books on each theme together.

Movable shelves in the center of the area display books by theme, matched to children's interests.

Magazines, children's books, and a fair corner are placed near the store entrance.

The same shelf has books for adults on the upper level and books for children on the lower level, so parents and children can choose books together.

Products for adults, such as practical books and goods, are available at the back of the store.
Muchu DISCOVERY, the Original Diagnosis Experience Connecting the Park and the Retail Area
Muchu DISCOVERY is an original diagnosis experience at Muchu Planet. The attractions a child plays in the park are recorded on an original wristband called シャリング, which has a built-in NFC (near-field communication) tag. From each child's play tendencies, the experience then suggests recommended book themes that match what that child is absorbed in (their own "Muchu").
By connecting play in the digital park to encounters with books in the retail area, it aims to further expand children's intellectual curiosity. Details about シャリング: https://litpla.com/sharing/

After playing in the park, touch the wristband to the Muchu DISCOVERY monitor.

Recommended book themes are diagnosed from the tendencies in the attractions played.

Enjoy finding books at the bookshelf for the recommended theme.
