Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort Opens on April 1, 2026

Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort is set to open on April 1, 2026, in the Turibaa district of Miyako Island, Okinawa. Developed by Mitsubishi Estate and Kajima Corporation and operated by Hilton, the hotel marks the first resort entry for the Canopy by Hilton brand in the Asia-Pacific region, its second property in Japan, and Hilton's seventh hotel in Okinawa Prefecture.

Adjacent to the hotel, Mitsubishi Estate and Kajima Corporation are simultaneously opening the commercial facility "Yard miyakojima," which houses eight shops and restaurants from Okinawa and Tokyo.

About the Location

The hotel is located in the Turibaa district of Miyako City, approximately 15 minutes by car from Miyako Airport and about 25 minutes from Shimojishima Airport. The area also offers convenient access to the city center and Irabu Bridge. A free shuttle bus operates between the hotel and Miyako Airport.

The Canopy by Hilton Brand

The Canopy by Hilton brand currently operates around 50 hotels across 14 countries and territories worldwide. In Japan, the brand made its debut with the opening of Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda in 2024, and has plans to open Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka in 2028. The brand focuses on delivering upscale yet welcoming stays through locally inspired touchpoints, refined design, and food and drink tailored to guests' preferences.

Facilities and Guest Rooms

The 12-story hotel offers 306 rooms across 11 room types. Options range from 35-square-meter guest rooms and deluxe rooms with private balconies to suites of up to 102 square meters. Five types of suite rooms—20 in total—feature separate living and bedroom areas, with private balconies offering views of the ocean.

Dining

The hotel's ground floor hosts the all-day dining restaurant "The Marsan's Beach House," a bright, open space featuring seasonal flavors from Miyako Island. Also on the ground floor is the dinner-only grill restaurant "CHIIKII," which serves menus highlighting Okinawan ingredients.

The rooftop infinity pool on the top floor offers views over Irabu Bridge and stunning sunsets. The poolside bar "Sunbear Day Club" serves colorful drinks and light bites alongside panoramic views of the Miyako-blue sea and sky. Scheduled to open in May, "The Round" outdoor picnic space will offer private barbecue and pizza party booths for families and groups.

Other facilities include the kids club "Shima Sprouts Play Zone" with equipment and games for all ages, a dedicated relaxation floor "RETREAT" for guests to use after checkout until departure, and a 24-hour fitness center.

Opening Campaign

To celebrate the opening, Hilton Honors members who stay for three or more consecutive nights between April 1 and June 30, 2026, will receive 1,000 Honors Points per night. Details are available at the hotel's official campaign page.

Turibaa District Development

The Turibaa district development by Mitsubishi Estate and Kajima Corporation began with the opening of Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort in June 2023. The current project—Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort and the adjacent Yard miyakojima—represents the second phase of development, with both facilities opening simultaneously on April 1, 2026.

Yard miyakojima

"Yard miyakojima" is conceived as "everyone's backyard" on Miyako Island, open to hotel guests, local residents, and visitors alike. Eight shops and restaurants from Okinawa and Tokyo are set to operate within the facility. A rooftop sunset terrace overlooking Irabu Bridge is also part of the complex.
