Godzilla Energy Sixth Edition Goes on Sale November 9, 2026 in a Godzilla Minus Zero Package

Godzilla Energy, an energy drink inspired by Godzilla, the king of the monsters, is being renewed and released on Monday, November 9, 2026 by Cheerio Japan Co., Ltd. (株式会社チェリオジャパン) of Chiyoda, Tokyo. The large 500 ml can contains 710 mg of arginine, 1,200 mg of citric acid and BCAA, and has a rich, punchy flavor. The package is designed around the new film Godzilla Minus Zero, now showing in theaters.

Sales begin gradually at select mass retailers nationwide, at Cheerio vending machines in the Chubu, Kansai and Okinawa regions and in Harajuku (Cat Street), and at the official Cheerio online shop (https://www.cheerio-shop.jp/).

The Godzilla From Godzilla Minus Zero on the Can

The sixth edition in the Godzilla Energy series features the latest film, Godzilla Minus Zero, which opened on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (a national holiday). The film is set in Japan in 1949, two years after the previous film Godzilla Minus One, and the Godzilla on the can glares sharply at the viewer.

As in past editions, the barcode on the back of the can has a playful twist. This time, Godzilla has smashed it, leaving it stomped flat.

Support for Moments That Call for a Little Extra Effort

Godzilla Energy contains one of the highest amounts of arginine in the energy drink category (according to the company's survey of the Japanese market as of October 2026). The renewal adds another 10 mg, bringing it to 710 mg per can. Together with caffeine, citric acid and the essential amino acids BCAA, it is meant to help with moments that call for a little extra effort, whether at play, during exercise or at work.

The drink has a substantial body, a clean aftertaste and a pleasant carbonated kick. Its black color is meant to reflect Godzilla's power.

Why Cheerio Teamed Up With Godzilla

Cheerio (チェリオ) has been making drinks with the slogan "delicious, fun, new" for 65 years. Since launching Lifeguard (ライフガード) in 1986, it has been supporting people in Japan long before the energy drink market heated up worldwide.

Wanting to energize Japanese society through beverages, Cheerio teamed up with Godzilla in 2021 to create Godzilla Energy. Godzilla is one of Japan's leading pieces of content and has been loved around the world for more than 70 years. Cheerio hopes customers can draw a little of Godzilla's power from the drink and use it as a push to get through the day.
