Five sweets from Monteur, a Yashio, Saitama-based maker and seller of Western-style fresh confectionery, including the "Milk & Egg Cream Puff" (牛乳と卵のシュークリーム), will appear in limited-edition packaging created in collaboration with the picture book series "The Bread Thief." They will be on sale at supermarkets for a limited time from Sunday, November 1 to Monday, November 30, 2026. Some stores within the sales areas may not carry them.
Monteur regularly releases seasonal and collaboration packaging to bring a little excitement to snack time. This collaboration is with the picture book series "The Bread Thief" by picture book author Keiko Shibata, which has passed 6.2 million copies in cumulative circulation and began its anime broadcast in October 2026. With its surreal, endearing characters and unexpected story developments, the series is enjoyed by adults as well as children. The collaboration is meant to make snack time more fun for fans, children, and families.
The cream puff and éclair packages use illustrations newly drawn by Shibata. They show The Bread Thief, who loves delicious food, discovering Monteur's cream puffs and éclairs and carrying them away, a scene that prompts a smile. The plump, well-baked choux pastry and the éclair topped with smooth chocolate are illustrated in a way that looks delicious. The other packages have fun designs featuring popular characters from the picture books and cute breads.
To mark the collaboration, two social media campaigns with a chance to win collaboration goods are also being held. Details are below.
