The Michi-no-Eki Gourmet Hyakkaten is set to make its first appearance at Daimaru Kobe Store from Wednesday, March 25 to Tuesday, March 31. The event gathers around 15 roadside stations (Michi-no-Eki) from across Japan, offering regional gourmet foods and local specialties beloved by communities in their home areas. The venue is the B1F Food Event Space at Daimaru Kobe Store.

With live cooking demonstrations available for select items, visitors can enjoy freshly made dishes on the spot.

Kanto Region

Ibaraki Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Kasama

Kasama City in Ibaraki Prefecture ranks first in Japan for both chestnut cultivation area and harvest volume. This roadside station is well known as a chestnut-focused destination.

Kuri no Ito – Kasama Waguri Gokusai Mont Blanc (Kasama Japanese Chestnut)

Made generously with "Kasama Waguri" (Japanese chestnuts from Kasama), which boast the top production volume in Japan. The aroma and sweetness of chestnut fill every bite. This is a "Michi-no-Eki Sweets" that won the Michi-1 Grand Prix two years running in 2023 and 2024.

Okinawa Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Kadena

This roadside station, the only one in Japan located adjacent to a US military base, draws many visitors as a tourist spot where Okinawan and American cultures intersect.

Hungry Angry – Beni-imo Malasada (Purple Sweet Potato Donut)

The Hawaiian-style fried doughnut "Malasada" reimagined with an Okinawan twist. Purple sweet potato from Okinawa is kneaded into the dough, then coated with a sugar glaze. The vibrant color and natural sweetness of the purple sweet potato make this a new local food representative of Okinawa.

Kyoto Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Tango Kingdom "Shoku no Miyako"

This is one of the largest roadside stations in western Japan, covering an area equivalent to around eight Koshien baseball stadiums. It features craft beer brewed on-site, a restaurant specializing in Tango egg tamago kake gohan (raw egg on rice), and more.

Hyogo Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Uzushio

Located with views of the Onaruto Bridge and the Naruto Strait, this roadside station features premium Awaji Island burgers, soft-serve ice cream made with Awaji Island milk, and a shop carrying over 1,000 island souvenirs.

Awaji Island onions are simmered slowly into a smooth, creamy potage. This limited product – exclusive to Michi-no-Eki Uzushio – captures the natural sweetness of the onion. It also pairs well with bread when heated.

Ishikawa Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Suzu Shioden Village

Japan's only roadside station with a museum documenting the history of salt-making using the "agehama" method, as well as an active salt field where visitors can experience the process. The station carries products made with its traditional salt and other Noto-sourced ingredients.

Made from Noto beef, raised in the beautiful natural environment of the Noto Peninsula surrounded by sea and mountains. Simmered together with onion, burdock root, ginger, and shiitake mushrooms in an original seasoning. It can be enjoyed over white rice, as an onigiri filling, as a dip for vegetables, or as a topping for noodles.

Kagawa Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Takinomiya

Themed around "udon and strawberries," this station includes a self-service udon restaurant where noodles are hand-made in-house, a strawberry gift shop, and a strawberry sweets specialty store.

Fukushima Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Namie

A roadside station offering dishes made with fresh seafood landed at Ukedo Fishing Port, as well as Namie Yakisoba noodles. It serves as a symbol of the town's recovery and is cherished by local residents.

Fukuoka Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Otou Sakura-kaido

One of the largest roadside stations in western Japan, with a "Fureai Hiroba" covering approximately 1.4 times the area of PayPay Dome. Known as a coal-mining town, it offers unique gourmet items inspired by coal culture.

Kamidako – Sumitako (Charcoal Takoyaki)

Takoyaki inspired by the coal of Tagawa, a former mining town. The pitch-black batter incorporates the area's specialty bamboo charcoal. The rich original dashi is flavorful enough to enjoy without sauce.

Gunma Prefecture – Michi-no-Eki Maebashi Akagi

Located near the foot of Mt. Akagi in central Gunma Prefecture, this roadside station opened in 2023 with the concept of being "Japan's most beloved roadside station." It features bathing facilities, a dog run, and a barbecue area catering to visitors of all ages.
